Default Card Storage

Hey all! I am moving to a new house in a few weeks and want to solve my problem of card storage. Right now my cards (mostly raw in top loaders) are a bit all over the place. I have them in a large box but am constantly moving them in and out to view.

Does anyone have suggestions since I’ll be starting fresh in a new house for storage ideas? I want a setup where I can easily access/organize them but have some method to the madness. Wondering what ha worked for others!

Any kind of shelving is a must in my opinion. Basic wire shelves with organized boxes will go a long way. From there it's really up to you and your budget. A nicer shelving system with doors offers a bit more protection. Upgrading to Pelican cases from standard cardboard does as well.

Thank you! I was thinking of biting the bullet a year or so ago and just sending everything I cared about to PSA so I could organize slabs but that went out the window at $150/card!

If you ever have a minute, would you mind posting a photo with the 2-row boxes inside? If not, no worries.

Thank you.

1. Cheap method : If you have available space with numerous boxes, 100 or so, find a smaller pallet or more and you can protect and stack boxes safely.

2. Affordable but need to modify - find a large filing cabinet with multiple drawers (6) and you can put a little time and money into creating a card storage cabinet.

3. More expensive but not over the top, basement Man Cave, create a room in the basement designed for cards.

4. Anything utilizing cards in a room designated for a living space / bedroom, that is turned into a man cave, you are in the “Ritz”.

I actually have the first 3.

I’m currently at work.

When I get home I’ll send some pictures of my set up.

It’s overboard but I love it.

I got the idea from a YouTuber who has the same exact set up

Disclaimer: I went to the store and measured, but I haven’t bought them yet. I’ll pick them up next July when I get to my new house.

I use these... but I believe I paid $30 for one... not $70.. wow

https://www.target.com/p/8-bin-shoe-...02#lnk=sametab

Anyways, I have 8 of these. You can adjust the number of compartments.
You can put 4 four row boxes each having their own shelf or 6 if you stack them.
6 two row toploader boxes.

etc... you get the idea.

It’s a craftsman tool storage locker

It was discontinued in 2018 I believe l. They sell similar ones now but they are a lot cheaper quality

This one was made in the US.

First time posting but I have followed the forum for about the last 2 years as I have slowly been dragged back in by the nostalgia bite.
Organization has been my main goal and have decided to work on being able to display and have sets/graded singles easily accessible.

But here’s a preview which is a shelf from Lowe’s and mostly BCW graded storage boxes which hold all sets from toploaders to graded. Still have work to do but I’m phasing out on singles/ commons from box breaks that aren’t apart of sets and trying to grade key cards that are part of main sets or small insert sets.

I've found the absolute best storage unit is the Ikea kallax storage system. I use it for Records (LPs), CDs, and for cards.

If you buy the two drawer insert option, slabs and cards in top-loaders fit like a charm with some foam dividers. Looks like this:

Easy access and they're nicely protected. I love this setup.
