Default Do you Hate When?

You list stuff on Ebay and start getting messages asking if you have IG or FB?? I purposely have my IG ID the same as my Ebay so people can easily look me up without asking me on Ebay for my IG info. If you are that lazy to even look first then I don't even want to respond. Most of the time if I find a card on Ebay I will search the username on IG just to see if I can find the seller. Im not even sure if Ebay tracks messages anymore with the amount of messages like these I get. Probably similar to them not being concerned with shilling anymore either.

Yeah I ask this. I didn't have IG until this most recent month so I usually asked if they had a FB.

Honestly this will sound stupid but I never really thought about making an IG or making my eBay username the same as my IG.

So I guess from my experience I could see why people may ask.

Pretty harsh. All you have to do is reply "yes, same as my username here".

If I was a buyer, and wanted to do a deal off ebay. It is so much easier for me to click the contact seller button, on the same page as the auction. VS having to exit ebay, or close the app. Log onto IG and start a search.

Plus, there are so many versions of the same tags. You are sethc1020 on here, but sethc_1020 on ebay.

What do you think is easier/better? Me sending messages to a few people that have an Instagram handle that kinda sorta looks like your ebay name, and asking those people if they are the ones selling cards on ebay.

Or me just asking you directly on ebay?

I would much rather them take the time to find me first rather than take the risk of getting us both suspended or banned from ebay by asking through Ebay messages. Thats really the point of why I hate it. Most of the time its from buyers that have lower ratings so maybe they don't fully understand Ebays policy. I just get them a lot and even when I do respond they still want to go back and forth with ebay messages. Just drives me crazy.

Although the sethc_1020 on ebay is slightly different its pretty easy to type in sethc1020 on IG and find the guy with the cards. But, most of our online Ebay selling now is done on our business account IndianaCardGuys which the exact same as IG.

Your original post had no mentions of banning fears. It was to call those who message you on ebay, lazy. And how you don't even want to deal with these lazy people.

Which is why I said it was hash.

That was not my intention at all, I guess I should have been more clear but I thought this statement would have been enough. "I purposely have my IG ID the same as my Ebay so people can easily look me up without asking me on Ebay for my IG info " I apologize, I assumed it would have been assumed it was because of the potential for Ebay discipline.

Any posts on ebay I keep there. When I get PM's for IG or if I am willing to trade, I say no. They usually continue to message and I ignore. One response should be enough.

I don't think I've ever been asked about IG on eBay.

Me either. I have had people ask for my email.

Wow, I get it all the time. At least 4 times yesterday and several today. Happens every time I list stuff. I totally get why but just hate they ask through ebay and risk us getting booted instead of looking me up first.

I have never been asked. Is it because I have nothing new, as in the last few years?

If I'm selling something - it's usually a card I upgraded so it's not "hot right now" kind of cards. Maybe that is the difference?

This is probably the reason. I finally made an IG because a lot of people were asking for my IG on eBay and I didn't have one. Now that I have an IG I see a lot of people who I've dealt with are under 30.

People that seem to be 30+ usually don't deal off eBay but if I private message them and say I can do a deal for less through FB they usually tell me how to find them there.

And I know there's that crowd that says I'm breaking eBays rules. I'm aware and don't care. I don't need to be reminded.
