Topps TRU/Meijer Purple Parallel
One of the hobby’s most underrated parallels is the Topps Purple. Originally a parallel reserved for Toys R Us’ 800 stores, Meijer took over the exclusive for their 250 stores around the Great Lakes after TRU went bankrupt in 2018. The print run has been much lower since 2019, making is a very rare single for player collectors to chase.

For 19 update specifically I love the rarity of the power cube only distribution

the re-pack cubes holding 2019 Update were expensive Lottery tickets with a searched cloud hanging over them, though they could also kick up base 2018 RCs, y'all might have heard of a few of those. I got a perfect 3 strikes and out, almost a Benjamin for that.
Other years I have Devers, LouBob, and now Elly De La Cruz. Sold the 2019 Soto Rookie Cup way too early. But the S1s are the ones printed the most. No shortage of 2020-2023 still for sale. No more 22 Update though. |

I cleared out my local TRU stores when they were going out of business. Sold a lot still have a few commons left.

I am a big fan of the purple. Most of my PC is purple including all of my rookie auto's except for Acuna.

I have a lot of dupes of 2023 Meijer Purple if anyone is looking for particular cards. I'll get them listed one of these days. I also have some 2024 already. Every year I try to get the set completed but never get it done.

The TRU's are awesome.
The only thing that I can recall recently that competes with the rarity of the 2019 TRU's were the 2020 Update Target Red parallels that only came in blister packs. |
