That Cap image was done at the request of Marvel. It was for their Heroes Reborn initiative, and it was to be used as a banner of some kind, never published. The original art recently sold for $132,000.

Also, Liefeld’s run on Captain America is pretty good, he is not drawn as the above image suggests. Lastly, Liefeld’s run helped to set the precedent for a key story element of the Winter Soldier in both comics and MCU.

It's not that he didn't like to draw feet, it's that he couldn't draw feet. He also has no concept of anatomy, even after all these years as an "artist". As someone who lived through the Image guys splitting away from Marvel and becoming millionaires, the one I could never understand was Liefeld. Every kid at my high school could draw better super heroes than him.

Also, he gives himself a little too much credit for the creation of Deadpool, basically 100%. Let's not forget that he drew Deathstroke with a different color costume, which is what he did with most characters he "created", just taking an existing character and making the most minor changes possible. Fabian Nicieza then then named the character Deadpool as a joke because of the obvious rip off. As the writer on the comic, Fabian also came up with the dialogue and personality of the character. Other writers later added their own touches to the character's origins and personality to mold him into the character that was actually adapted to film. The version of Deadpool from New Mutants and early X-Force comics was actually quite bland and boring compared to what Deapool would become in the comics 20 years later.

I guess one thing is certain, if Jim Lee or another artist had been on New Mutants at the time, we'd still have that character as he was written in the script, but the design would be different and the name would probably be different.
