Default Augustin Ramirez

Was looking for the Miami Marlins official thread but couldn’t find one other than some year and playoff threads.

This guy has come out with a bang and most likely won’t be sent back once Fortes returns, they can’t get rid of Hicks so curious what will happen. Everyone said the Yankees won the trade but things are looking to shift the other way.

What do you guys think?

Thanks

An “official Marlins thread” would mostly just be me talking to myself.

As far as Agustin, I like him. I like his style of play. De Los Santos needs to get the call soon as well.

De Los Santos was great last year but from what I’ve read is a strikeout and defensive liability but that could be nonsense lol.

Agustin has some thick wheels to draw power from. That was my observation last night, if he connects that ball coming off the bat gonna go hard & far.

I don’t really dabble in 1st Bowmans much these days, but I make an exception for Marlins prospects. Picked this up dirt cheap before the season started.

He is literally carrying his minor league offense into the majors. Power, great contact and doesn’t strike out a ton. If he can improve his catching just a tad he will be their catcher for years to come.

Nice card.

Had Agustin auto spot in one of Houdini’s breaks but unfortunately most ended up grading a 9, the ones that got a 10 I kept and added two more before the season. At the moment I’ve got two base BCA 10 left that I’m holding on to.

This rookie really has made a splash, huh? I agree he’s probably sticking around even when Fortes is back, and they can’t just cut Hicks. At first the Yankees looked like the big winners, but the Marlins might be coming out ahead if this keeps up.

Baseball is just too difficult to have a start like this and it mean nothing...

Saw some interviews with his Patriots manager last year and he said the kid could be generational as he develops

Oh for sure but he has certain skills that could have him on a relatively high level for a while.

Great pickup. Reality for him this season is probably.

.250, 20 HR, 120 R/RBI, 4 steals.

He already stole 5 bases in the minors before getting called up, 22 last season. And has attempted 2 in 5 games already. I'd think his reality is probably closer to 10-12 steals for this year.

Against the Dodgers everyone gets a pass. He has 3 strikeouts in 29 at bats and keeps hitting the ball hard, results will come.
