Default 2025 Marvel Comic Book Heros 1975 Anniversary

EQL opens tomorrow.

I didn't see a thread for this but curious how folks are feeling about this. I'm a bit burned by the sapphire release but will try if box prices are reasonable. 150 card base set. No odds yet that I can find.

Ok, now this might be a Topps Marvel set I can get behind . . . pending price. I hope many others are burned out by the quick timing after sapphire and this doesn't get hit too hard by all the hype boys.

Assuming this is more rehashed art, par for the course with Topps, but thats cool they brought back the old 70s marvel sticker design. Well minus the quips and wisecracks.

Wonder if there will be actually stickers in this, or it’s just cards.

There’s a thread if you scroll down a bit,
titled “Topps Marvel Mint”.

These companies basically just printing money now….not even trying to hide it with a name like Marvel Mint either, hah.

Yea at $300 I’m out….well never really in tbh.

I have no problem with using rehashed art in a set like this where rehashing the art is kind of the point.

I agree as long as they only do it once for an older set. It’s the 2nd, 3rd… time that they try to go back to the same well that it gets tired and lazy.

These are from the first year that I started buying (or having cards bought for me) cards so I can did this one once.

These look awful with the crazy backgrounds behind the black outline.

Is this set actually stickers, or just designed to mimic the classic stickers?

$300 is disgusting, especially considering a lot of the SDCC boxes I saw opened had dinged corners. I fully expected they were going to charge more than the SDCC price, but not 3x more. That’s a hard pass for me.

There's already a parallel foil version of the reprint '75 Iron Man sticker in the 2013 Topps 75th Anniversary set, so the vintage ones will look sharp.

Hopefully, the vintage stickers won't have the fanciful backgrounds of the modern ones shown.

That said, why not reprint all, or at least closer to all 80 of the stickers from between the '75 & '76 series (and the 8 total text variations)?

'75 appears to be missing:
Shang-Chi (erroneously referred to as "Shang-Li" on the original sticker)
Frankenstein's Monster
Dracula (2 different poses)
Werewolf By Night
Living Mummy
Son of Satan
Conan
Kull

...as well as the 2nd cards for Cap, Hulk, Human Torch, Spidey, Thing, and Thor.

'76 is missing:
Conan
Dracula
Howard The Duck
Kid Colt
Punisher
Red Skull
Red Sonja
Sgt. Fury
Son of Satan
Black Goliath*
(*Hank Pym is on the '76 chrome checklist, but there was no sticker by that name in '76 set, so I'm assuming the Black Goliath sticker is being reprinted as simply "Goliath" while the original Goliath, one of Pym's many identities, is being retitled "Hank Pym".)

Conan, Kull, and Red Sonja I get, due to copyright issues, as well as the doubled-up '75 characters, but the others should have been reprinted.
Red Skull has an armband they probably would've had to blur out. Punisher, Sgt. Fury, and Kid Colt are firings guns which they may be leery of, and I guess they didn't want to lean in too hard on their horror characters besides Blade, Morbius, and Man-Thing.

I doubt these are stickers, and I doubt 90% of the people opening this product knows it's mimicking a classic set, even with "1975" in the name.

Vots...votstagg! Out of /499!!! Boooooooooom!!!!! LET'S FINNNNNNNNNNKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

What's extra absurd is that there will be multiple single cards from this set that will sell for more right out of the gate than the cost of a complete run of both the 1975 and 1976 sticker and puzzle checklist sets.

That said, beyond the vintage reprints (my only real interest here), I wouldn't mind getting that Frank Miller Daredevil Auto, which will be pricey, indeed.

I HATE CHROME
Everything's chrome now for no reason other than to make it more expensive. I hate the bowing, the lazy parallel structure, the uniformity of surface treatments, how easy it is to wipe off autograph ink... plus, no one knows how the plastic's going to age! So far the worst we see is greening and bowing, but in 50 years?

Looking for autos/relics of cartoon voice actors - one role as confirmed on IMDb is enough to qualify.

The bowing is 100% a serious pain. From what I have gotten my hands on from 2025 Marvel Chrome, however, they have solved this problem.

I think you'll find that you're in a pretty rare group of collectors other than that. Even Panini has fallen in line with trying to chromify everything. UD, not so much, but the UD cards suffer QC bad enough to avoid it.

I'm not sure what the complaint is about autograph ink but good news, these are sticker (soft) autos.

As for aging, I vastly prefer chrome to whatever coating was used in the 1990s. Opening a pack of 1993 finest (33 years old) is fine. Opening a pack of '93 fleer ultra? Bricked.
