What’s in your binders; sets, player cards, something else?
Why do you put this collection in your binder vs top loader? How often do you look through your binders? Just you typical generic binder talk here

Mitt Romney had binders full of women. So that’s one vote for something else.
With my avatar, you might think that’s my thing too. Binders full of women. But it’s not. I mostly have Star Wars cards in my binders. |

Binders are fun....I currently have binders for each set of 1971-75 Topps and 2022-25 Heritage. Also have one for my through the mail autos, and next year I plan on doing a few binders for player runs.

I use the Z-Folio binders and honestly, they changed the way I collect. I've never been a fan of the old school plastic 3-ring binder pages. But when I learned of the Z's I bought one to give it a try. Now I have 10.
2 For my affordable baseball player collections - early 2000's Hall of Good guys whom I collect rare/cool cards of on the cheap. 1 Basketball - Similar theme as with the above baseball. 1 Football - Similar theme as with above. 1 Misc. Cool Baseball - Various parallels and inserts that I think are cool - player doesn't matter. 1 Allen and Ginter - A variety of Ginter cards. 1 2005 Leaf Certified Materials Mirrors - Both Baseball and Football. It's my favorite set. I collect Black, Emerald, Gold and Blue mirror parallels from the set. 1 Printing Plates - I love plates so I have a binder dedicated to them. 1 Michael Jordan - Grew up a Bulls fan in the Chicago area. As a kid any MJ card I pulled I kept. This binder is largely stuff I've had since childhood. Lots of base and inserts. Nothing crazy. 1 Misc. - I don't collect hockey much, but I collect Patrick Kane. I know a WWE wrestler so I collect some of his cards and some other random stuff is what's in this binder. Them's my binder themes. I make it a point to look through one of the following before bed every night - 1 binder, my toploader box, my graded cards box. So, essentially, on average I look through each binder about once every two weeks give or take.

Currently transferring most of my sets into binders and so far I have these:
1971 Topps 1972 Topps 1973 Topps 1977/78 Topps Star Wars 1983 Topps Return of the Jedi 1984 Donruss 2001 Upper Deck Legends of NY 2007 & 2008 Topps Moments & Milestones Albert Pujols /150 complete run 2022 Topps Heritage 2025 Topps Chrome Raywave Refractor Also have 1978-1980 Kellogg's sets in a top loader binder. I have another top loader binder and I'll probably put my 2019 and 2021 Topps 3D sets in those. A few of these sets are incomplete but I also have many sets yet to do including my 2015-2024 Topps Chrome/Update Pink Refractor set run. Problem is finding 2" binders for the smaller sets. So hard to find these days. On a side note, what a great idea for a thread!!!

Memories. I have one binder with cards that remind me of great times in my own collecting history. Kevin Maas RCs, Shaq RCs, Brien Taylor, early 90s Classic cards...cards that I can look at and remember going to shows or cards that jog memories of my dad taking us to the LCS.
The good thing is that the cards I own now (graded, etc), I have zero connection or emotional attachment to, but that binder is everything.

Wait, my biggest takeaway from this is that there's a PuddleMonkey sibling, dare I say, PuddleMonkey(s).

The majority of my cards are in binders.
Sets are in binders by year. The majority of my Yankees cards are in binders by last name. Current Yankees (minus Judge, Cole, Stanton, and Dominguez) fill 2 binders. Rated Yankees minor league prospects are in a binder. I have player only binders of Judge (2), Cole, Stanton, Dominguez, Rivera, Tanaka (2), Voit, Jeter (3), and then a bunch of other Yankees I really like are doubled up 2 players to a binder. All of my game used and autographs are in top loaders stored in containers. My PSA slabs (mostly vintage cards) and 1/1s are in top loaders stored in my safe. I look through my current Yankees binders and favorite Yankees binders more than anything else. |

If I had to guess, his brother goes by PondMonkey or LakeMonkey or something that refers to a more substantial body of water. OceanMonkey would actually be pretty impressive. |

I have a couple of binders. First, my all Mets binder. Nothing great, just base cards of stars of all eras.
Then there’s my wrestling binder. Same as above Then my autographs binder. Pulls, purchases and TTM auto’s for my browsing pleasure. I have an all Allen and Ginter of mostly oddball cards because it’s a conversation piece. Finally, a one-off 2022 binder. This contains the collectible stuff and cool images from 2022, the year my son was born. The sets I’ve put together are in boxes in a Rubbermaid storage bin. |

Have one binder that is for top loaders which are my higher end Detroit Tiger cards that aren't being currently displayed.
Have a ton of the Z-Folio binders, one has lower end Tiger cards that are visually appealing, one has all autos of any player/team, another is the entire set of 1995 Fleer Emotion because it's rad. Another is hockey, basketball, football. |

Recently picked up a second top-loader binder because of how much more I enjoyed having my cards in a binder vs. a double shoe.
One binder is where I keep $10-$200 cards that I like but don't want to keep longterm, either because I think they are nearing their peak in value and should be sold ASAP or just things that don't fit my PC but are good-looking cards. Other is PC, and it will be two binders soon. - Braves - Panthers - Hurricanes - Liverpool - Former UNC players who have done well in the pros (baseball, basketball, football and women's soccer) - Bobby Witt Jr. |

Most of my collection is complete sets so probably less then 10% is in binders. I started putting the sets I was working on in binders which makes it a lot more fun to fill the pages as I go rather than simply adding it to a box.
My binders 1973-76 Topps sets 1972 Topps everything but the hi numbers which I’m still working on. 1980, 1986, 2018 Topps Pirates Team sets, I think there’s 4 binders 2 with Topps and two with other brands. 1994 Donruss set I really like this set and it just looks good in a binder. I also have a couple from my childhood that have full sets of 1994 Topps and 1992 Upper Deck in them along with a couple binders of player collections I started back in the 1990s of Cal Jr, Sandberg, and Ryan. Going forward I’m planning on putting 1969 and 1971 in binders, just haven’t gotten around to it yet, plus I’m less then 50% complete on both of those Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
