Exclamation Mile High Overrun by Brent Huigens & Mike Baker Trash; PSA Fails Yet Again

BUYER BEWARE if bidding on items from Mile High Auctions. They have been overrun by altered cards from Brent Huigens & Mike Baker. Some of these cards are graded by PSA and some are graded by MBA.

See below for two examples of trimmed cards from this group of criminals. These are both cards that have been freshly graded by PSA. PSA continues to grade trimmed and altered cards indiscriminately.

TRIMMED: 1948 Leaf Jackie Robinson #79 PSA 3.5 PSA Cert: 122005442
There was also an attempt made to press out a crease. This was ultimately not completely successful and led to the lack of upward movement of the technical grade.

TRIMMED: 1948 Leaf Larry Doby #138 PSA 4 PSA Cert: 122005440

Thanks for sharing and terrible to see those guys are selling through Mile High - such a solid group of folks there and enjoy talking to them at shows. I’ll send this over to them and hopefully they can review & pull the auctions.

Also check N54 regarding the MBA 5.5 CJ Cobb.

Seriously, though, Brian knows who he is dealing with and what they do. Like all the AHs he probably made his deal with the devil a long time ago.

Yeah, both Mile High and PSA know who summited the cards.

gif that 312 shared that might be good to post on Net54.

Grading continues to be a joke. But I guess if it makes all these people money, they don't really care.

Nice work!

Not at all surprised at the resurfacing of the snake.

I know BODA has mostly gone dormant the last half decade, but it's important to show that trimmed cards are still getting graded by PSA -- nice work, OP.

Just proves how much tougher PSA is grading now when a trimmed card goes from a 4 to a 3.5

Most auction houses take consignments from card doctors. If MH is doing that, there is nothing unique to them in it.

This card is NOT trimmed. I work in software & used to work for an Adobe co. w/ PDFs. When resizing images, the prog. code & math behind the scenes can lock in aspect ratios which is what’s happening here. The older cert looks wider while the new cert looks longer. Look below
https://x.com/i/status/2008252824136937551

Someone sent me this Tweet. However, it is not accurate as I did skew the aspect ratios when making the gif. Normally I don't do that because it causes distortion (obviously), but in this case it was the only way to line the images up.

So I agree with the poster's point re: aspect ratios as I witnessed that yesterday on both the Doby and Jackie, but I corrected for that.

I did remake the gif though. I think this one is even cleaner than yesterday's. Again the aspect ratios have been skewed to ensure there is no distortion.

100% trimmed.

Quite obvious just by looking at the corners and paper/stain/print imperfections on the card's back edges without the use of a gif.

Exclamation Mile High Overrun by Brent Huigens & Mike Baker Trash; Recolored 1971 Dryden PSA 10

Mile high is also selling this recolored Dryden: https://milehighcardco.com/1971_O_Pe...LOT118423.aspx

This card is part of a known Brent Huigens PSA submission: https://www.blowoutforums.com/showpo...9&postcount=16

It was first sold by PWCC on Aug 27, 2017.

Either:

1.) This card was returned to Brent by the original purchaser and he is auctioning it again now. This is likely based off of the number of fraudulent cards present in the auction.

or

2.) It is being auctioned by an innocent third party.

The most obvious alteration is a bit of brown/orange color added onto the area noted below to obfuscate a factory print dot. This (and a few even smaller areas of recoloring) allowed the card to go from a PSA 9 to a PSA 10.

RECOLORED: 1971 O-Pee-Chee #45 Ken Dryden PSA 10 GEM MINT Cert: 27228422

If Drent had any stones, he would pull these cards.

Taking a look, the cert between the Doby and Jackie was actually flagged as altered by PSA. 1 for 3.

https://www.psacard.com/cert/122005441/psa

That card was previously in a SGC 5.5 holder.

Looks like there's been some work on the print line.

This essentially proves that this was submitted to PSA by Brent unless someone can find a sale of this same card when it was called out as a PSA 6.

This card is currently listed in the PWCC Vault for $38k. Color has been added to the print line, most notably over Jackie's eyebrow and down his cheek and neck. Black also appears to be added at the top and bottom of the nameplate along the same print line. The staining on the bottom left has also been cleaned up, as have the corners and edges, however those are minor alterations compared to the recoloring. Buyer beware. I wonder who owns this one...

The last comparison in the images below shows a spot on the print line of missing black ink that has not been removed. This is because that spot should appear on the card. Therefore, it is a useful reference to show how the areas above and below this dot have been colored in to help eliminate the print defect.

I knew that one looked familiar.

With the old cert still active, looks like PSA may have avoided another grade guarantee payout.
