Now what do I do with all these cards of past White Sox that are no longer? Collecting is rough sometimes.

I'd say they have to be likely to trade for skubal but they haven't shown a willingness to give pitchers big contracts.

Alonso —> Polanco
McNeil —> Semien Nimmo —> Robert Jr. Baty/Vientos —> Bichette Diaz —> D. Williams I guess they’re better…? Alonso is more fun than Polanco. Perhaps avoiding a long-term contract was the goal, but I don’t quite get paying Polanco $20 mil/yr. I like Semien. I used to interview him when he was booting the ball all around the Oakland infield, and I enjoyed watching his career blossom in Toronto. But he’s winding down. With all the young talent (Baty/Mauricio/Acuna—at the time of the Semien trade), it would seem wiser to let one of the kids grow into the position instead of watching Semien age out of it. And they’d still have Nimmo. Paying Bichette $42 mil/yr is crazy, even if there’s a benefit to not being locked in long-term. But if money is no object, then what does the number matter? Assuming he can transition to third, it’s an upgrade. Peak Luis Robert is fantastic. But Nimmo is about a million percent more reliable to be on the field. Diaz has great years and average years, so it’s probably not much of a step down to Williams—or might even be a wash if Williams bounces back completely. What’s the net result? Improved team defense? Less power but more well-rounded offense? Shaking things up because whatever they’ve been doing just hasn’t quite worked? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Wow did the Mets sour that much on Acuna ? He was a can't miss prospect just 2 years ago with many experts saying he had better overall tools than Ronald.
This also doesn't bode well for Jett Williams getting much playing time in 2026.

Well on paper the mets look potentially very injury prone. Robert, polanco, semien, bichette all will likely miss some time. I dont know what the plan is or if there is a plan anymore. They have to be looking to make more trades as whats the point of keeping all these guys in the minors for mult years.

If you paid for that content you should go ask for your money back, LuisAngel was never in the same league as his brother from a prospect standpoint.

If you look past the 20 million salary the Mets got the better end of the deal. Maybe Acuna will turn the page with new surroundings, something I’m also expecting to see with Robert.

This guarantees the Mets will be a loser. Good teams don’t trade for cancers.

They just signed up for 100 games of .223 hitting with ~14 homers.
