Default International buyer wins auction meant for US

Hey guys,
My ebay auction # 190661640138 was won by a buyer in China even though I set up my country restrictions to US only. I think that there's a loophole because this guy's address is showing as invalid in ebay. Anyway, he won and initially, I was a little ticked that he won since he was in China.

Well, being a nice guy, I thought it would be ok as long as I shipped the item with ShipCover, to avoid the potential "item not received" claim. He requested a total through ebay and when I go to calculate shipping, ebay doesn't give a shipping total because of the invalid address.

My question is this, can I cancel the transaction without potentially getting a negative on my feedback? I've read all the horror stories about shipping overseas and I'd rather not even deal with it.

I just got an offer from Japan on a US only auction. I opted to reject it rather than negotiate because I don't want to deal with the headaches.

I think he could still neg a cancelled transaction, but you could probably get the feedback removed from eBay if he did

I decided I'm going to ship the card and see what happens. In the future, I'm going to be more careful and if I notice an int'l bidder, I'm just going to cancel their bid. It's too much risk in my eyes.

It sucks that there is a loophole in the system that allows int'l bidders to bid on US only auctions. I guess I'll just have to be more vigilant.

You have to actually block the countries that ou do not ship to in your selling preferences. Once you do that not only can a bidder from a international country not bid on a item, they cant even message you!
