Default My eBay "LOL" for the day

Goes a little something like this ...

(1) Buyer purchases card from me, pays immediately.

(2) I invoice the buyer, thanking him for the purchase, and letting him know that I have other similar cards for sale - in case he would like any of those, I can combine shipping.

(3) Buyer says "yes, I would like another of your cards", specifies which one. I let him know once he BIN's, I will send him an invoice to reflect the combined shipping amount for the second card. He responds saying "sounds great, please combine shipping". Friendly interaction.

(4) Time passes. Card still available. I email him late this morning and let him know that if he would like me to combine shipping, to please make the purchase before this evening or I will need to go ahead and ship the first card.

(5) In the meantime, someone bids on my card. So I send a follow-up to let the buyer know that if he indeed wants the card, I can pull the auction and sell to him directly. I know it's a no-no ... don't judge me.

(6) He responds and says he doesn't understand, he already bought the card from me, and that I am badgering him ... if I don't do what I say I was going to do and combine shipping for the two cards within 24 hours he is going to "let eBay handle it".

(7) In about 30 seconds, I quickly determine that the buyer has won an auction for the card ... from another seller.

People.

I bet his face is red when he discovered his mistake.

stupid people are funny.

I resemble that remark. I listed 70 BC baseball auctions and put them all under the football category.... Doh!

What's great is eBay doesn't let you sent item #s anymore in messages (at least they've got me locked down from doing it), so you can't tell them exactly which listing to buy. Frustrating!

Had something similar. I used to be big into MMA cards and had a buyer claim I only sent one of the 2 cards he paid for.
I assured him its not possible and we trade about 10 LONG messages about whos right/wrong and POA.
3 days later he messages me apologizing and says he forget he bought one of the cards from someone else as well and he received my package as we agreed to and says he buys to much and no hard feelings.
I agree but I know at some point I will end up dealing with him again.
3 months later he needs one of the better cards of a 63 card set that sells for about $50.
I tell him I have someone else interested but he can make an offer. Basically I charged him for wasting my time and effort and play an imaginary bidding war with him and ended up selling it to him for $85.

Don't think I haven't thought about it. But that one should be an easy win.

Last night, after I informed him of his folly, I got this message:

"Just send the card that I paid for and hopefully this will solve the confusion."

I'm on the fence. I at least feel a DSR ding coming from this goober.
