Default How Much $$$ Do Players Get Per Autograph???

Just curious how much money players make for signing autographs from Topps? Do better players get more money? Does Topps pay more money if it's an on-card auto vs a sticker?

I honestly know nothing about this, but I'm GUESSING they do have to pay more for an on-card.

Sticker autos. Bleck.

Just for reference. Devin mesoraco got $20 per autograph for bowman draft in 07. I grew up with him and he and his family still live in the area

Gross or net?, after every little union gets their hands in the pot and the agents who set up the signings...

it's a vulture culture out there...

Man, that seems crazy! Even for a first-rounder...if he signs even 1K (I'm assuming he gets more), that would net him $20,000.

That leads me to believe that there's NO way that everyone gets paid the same. I'm sure there are plenty of scrubs making well under ten bucks a sig. Hall of Famers would obviously command plenty more.

Wow! I would have guess they pay more like $2-5 with some high name vets getting $15-20.

The prices are come from the Agents.. Before Topps even speaks with a player, everything is done through the agent. Topps just shows up and the player starts signing... So if you may have noticed before that not many players who have the same agent sign for Topps. That's because the agent's price is too high for Topps. In other words, the player sits back and waits until the agent says yay or nay..

Mike Trouts agent is asking $200 to $500 per signature. Don't expect many trout auto cards in the near future!

Yeah, well he'll come back to earth sooner or later. That's a stupid number for an auto.

Couldn't agree more. I personally wouldn't pay any living player anywhere near that for an auto, especially when I'm buying in bulk.

Im assuming its an IP Fee, not a Card Company fee.

I know a lot of the Just Minors/Tristar stuff they pat $1-$3 per auto. The stars can command upwards of $100 each. If you look up the Lawsuits where players sue Topps/Upper Deck for unpaid auto fees they list them there. I think Vince Carter got like $65 per signature.

A lower end guy in this year's Bowman Chrome was paid $2 per card. $20 seems really, really high to me.

The language probably reads something like this:

This is correct, most normal guys are getting anywhere from $1-$5. If a company wants a guy they might get closer to $7-$10. Some established players could command $15-$20.

And then there are off the chart guys like Trout. Doubt he gets many sigs at that rate, those numbers are normally reserved for the best of the best.

My LCS tried to book him recently and his agent wanted 200 to 500 per item. Take in mind this is an Anaheim too! Said he was asking the same price as he offered to topps. o.0

I think its per amount of stickers they sign, alot of the minor league guys the money actually means something to them considering they have paychecks that aren't huge by any standard.
