Default Beckett autograph grading a joke?

I've noticed that they give almost any on-card auto a 10..check this out! the signature on this Taveras is horrible..but 10 again?

That's messed up..but I mean, I've never seen a Taveras sig. that looked worse..are they just looking for the placement of it and streaks? yours is maybe a signed a bit too high on the sticker..

They don't give out all 10's thats for sure, however, I don't understand their grading metric.

Look at these, some of the 9's look better than the 10's

I think this is the root of the problem. There isn't a metric. There's no way to measure this. It's completely subjective and that's why they should have never started it. I have a Taveras Ref AU that has a MUCH better signature that they gave a 9, so now my card is worth $50-$75 less than a refractor with a similar or worse auto that was given a 10 by a grader who goes easier on autos

Yeah their autograph grading is off, I have a Bryce Harper Bowmab auto that are notorious for the autos being bad, mine is decent compared to most, it was graded a 9. I would not have a problem with that, however I have seen ones much worse than mine get a 9 as well, and I have also seen ones equal to or worse than mine get a 10!

I wouldn't even mind if they made it a 5th subgrade on auto'd cards, but to grade it on it's own and to display the grade as prominently as they do the card grade is just absurd

I dont have a scan right now. But they got me on a Five Star football Gronkowski rc auto. I thought it was nice but was expecting a 9 on the auto. Came back a 6.

Well that just about says it all right there.

There is ZERO consistency in the auto grade. It's terrible and shouldn't even be included if there is no steady criteria for it.

All singleton bc autos should be a 6

Totally embarrassing for putting that in a product.
Topps rep should make him resign or never sign again.
Or give him a proper writing utensil.

Streaky as can be.

i think topps reused the pens from last years product. Singleton needs to go back to his autograph he used on 2010 bowman sterling. those were really nice.
