This is actually pretty exciting as a Badger fan, can't stand Bielema. Dude always mis-manages games and can't win the big one. Seems like a great fit for Arkansas.

Thank God he's gone from the B10. He got all butthurt about Meyer coming and acting like an SEC coach in the B10. We'll see how he does actually playing in the SEC!

Not sure how he is going to work out for Arkansas but I'm not sure who they were going to find that was any better at this time.

Well this was certainly a surprise. I wonder if he is going to coach in the rose bowl or not. I was never a big fan of his, but I also didnt dislike him as much as some other badgers fans do. The biggest issue I have seen with him is not being able to finish off games. Seems like the badgers keep blowing leads, throwing up eggs when you dont expect them to, and lose at the end of the 4th or in OT. It is like you can see they are a very good team, but just cant quite get there. Almost reminds me of when Mike Sherman was coaching the packers. An ok coach, but not someone that was going to push you over the top. Bad play calling at the end of games, bad clock management, blown leads, etc.

Seems like he would ask for the news to stay private until after the Rose Bowl.

I'm a huge Bielema fan and just finished up four years of going to school there and had the pleasure of talking with him on several occasions as our schedules must have matched up. Lived across the street from Camp Randall. With that said, it is hard not to like the guy IMO. He has brought the team to three straight Rose Bowls, something no other coach at Wisconsin has done. Sure he has mismanaged games and called timeouts at very inopportune times, but I don't think you can really mess with three straight. Also, as undeserving as we were to be in the Championship game with OSU and PSU being on suspension, I think we proved our place among the elite in the Big Ten by absolutely annihilating Nebraska. Was glad to give it to the Huskers fans after the game, as we had to sit and take it in the streets beforehand in Indy. Bret will be missed by many, and hopefully recruits decide to stay committed.

If not Childress, then Leach, maybe?

Thankfully! Not a fan of the him. Maybe they can get a coach who knows how to win a bowl game.

Finally! This is good for the badgers, maybe they can get back to winning 10 games. I have a feeling Alvarez kind of helped him out the door.

Good news for Wisconsin.

A lot of the big-time boosters hated the guy and were withholding donations lately because they wanted him gone. Besides the obvious $ reasons, there were a lot of internal forces pushing him out the door.

Took him all of one year to run away from the Urban assault. Sad.

Talked to one of my friends that's on the team and apparently bielama said he is leaving because he wants to win a championship. Be gone #@#@#@#@#@#@#@. We will win the rose bowl without you

lol I like all these comments about him being afraid of Urban. So instead of staying in one conference where there is 1 team that is likely to always be good you move to another conference where like 4 teams are always good. That really makes sense. I am betting he got alot bigger paycheck to go to Arkansas, js. Cant blame him for taking the money, but to think he has a better chance at winning in the SEC than he does in the Big Ten is nuts

I don't understand all of you guys acting like he is afraid of Urban so he bolted? You think that was his thinking when he goes to a conference like the SEC? The SEC coaches are LIGHT YEARS better than the Big 10. Let's run from Urban Meyer and a much weaker conference to face Saban, Spurrier, Miles, etc. That is a stupid argument in my opinion.
