Default How many ounces would one card in a toploader weigh?

Hey Guys,
Trying to figure out the weight of one card in a toploader for mailing purposes. Normally I took my cards to the post office but I want to try the paypal shipping labels but need to find out the weight. Thanks for the help

Typically about .7 or .8 ounces, but depends on the type of bubblemailer (brand/size) as well as the label your using (technially the label does count against the weight). Jersey cards can sometimes go to 1.0 or 1.2 ounces or more.

If you start going this route, I highly recommend spending 20 bucks and getting a digital scale.

If it's a base card or plain auto card you can get away with 1 oz. However, anytime I have a jersey card I do 2 oz as they run 1.3 - 1.7 depending on holder and card stock. When we get into patches they usually fit into the 2 oz area as well. I picked up a digital scale for $15 at Walmart. Typical stuff I can do easily, however, when I have card lots or sets or a bunch of cards the scale comes in handy.

Remember there are tips and tricks for adding thickness to the bubble mailer to get some of the other charges down cheaper. Packing peanuts are your friend.

Good Point RJF...dont forget, paypal shipping the package MUST be 3/4" thick or it violates USPS rules and the package (if caught) will be treated like a Priority Mail package and priority rates can and will be applied to the package...ala postage due.

This is true, but for the past 3 years the PO system has never sent one back. Now that I've said they, they'll all return...

Grave digging are we?
I can't remember what 200 cards stacked look like. What does 200 chrome cards in sleeves look like anyhow?

Indeed, I figured someone had posted it before. This is the closest thing I found

But Captain Obvious, are you sure they're not on the bottom of that 1 card?

Some post offices have self serve stations...

If yours does, go drop em on the scale there, then go home and print

However, when I ship bulk, I do 50 count jewel cases, fill up however many, go buy a big bubble mailer, stick the jewels in like normal, seal bubble mailer, put bubble mailer into flat rate envelope and print label for flat rate envelope.

I would estimate 1 chrome, in sleeve to be about .3, probably less ounces or so.

.3 x 200 = don't feel like math right now...

But that will give you the answer to if you gotta go priority or first class...

But don't forget, you gotta contain the cards somehow, don't just throw em in a bubbler that way lol

Unless they changed this with the increase in shipping cost recently, paypal shipping charges the same from 1 oz to 3 oz, so I just automatically put 3 oz on every package just in case. Only if its close to going over 3 oz do I bother to weigh it. As others have said you can pick up a cheap digital scale at a lot of different places. I picked up a brand new digital kitchen scale for $3 at a garage sale. Best $3 I ever spent
