Need Some Opinion on these Vintage Strip cards + More...

So I was doing some searching and came across a relatively close auction this weekend. My question is it appears some of these were altered to eliminate the damaged corners...my question is what does it do to the value over all...? What would you pay?

it's all about eye appeal and this one has just that. nice red color and centering.

didnt pay anything yet...auction is this weekend I figured between this and Roberto Clemente PSA 7 id go about $1500

not sure about the clemente... but if you can get the ruth for a good price, i would bring it to the Valley Forge show and have it PSA graded. with the round corners, i would think it would be a 4 or so.

i see some of these cards listed as authentic hand cut and then some hand cut and given a numerical grade on ebay. i know that PSA has minimum sizing requirements for this set... i would check on those before buying and bring a nice ruler to the auction.

I won it for $600. Even if it doesnt grade well its not everyday you come across a 1921 Ruth Strip for the price in decent condition

The Ruth is great! You did well. They came in strips of four from a machine for a penny, so they are all altered. Great card! Congrats!

yea now if only the auction house would give me the ok to pick it up... like VWBUS said run it down to the Valley Forge show and run through PSA see what happens...

-The scan is at an angle, so a bit tougher to tell, but is that top border trimmed at an angle left to right i.e. not level? I can never tell with those angled shots.

Either way, helluva nice card to look at, nicely done.
