Unhappy christmas tree help!

i got a nice tree from lowes back at the end of nov. they cut alittle of the trunk and took a few branches off. went home we put it right in the stand and has kept it watered. but now the bottom is drying out and its not taking in any water. what should i do? thanks

You could cut more off, or possibly drill holes into the trunk to allow for more space for water to soak up into it...should of gotten one of those good ol Michigan Pine trees..they'll last (I'll argue for Maine too as I lived there)

im gonna have to get the drill i guess....would be to hard to saw more off the trunk. thanks robert

also, use sugar water instead of just plain water, it helps.

ive always got them at lowes right when they get them so i can get the best of them. and never had a problem before. i even use tree food

We always throw a beer in on the first day (don't ask me, I have no idea). But it works, and the needles never fall off, and it always is taking water. Just a thought for next year.
