Just venting guys and an update....
I am very sorry guys for not doing this contest yet....... Sigh........ In truth.... I have been going through some things....... In moving to Hawaii and the stress that it has put on my family....... My wife began to suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Depression....... In moving to Hawaii... Let's just say.... It did not go over very well with my family sad to say. Some family became jealous....some envious.........some saddened........few positive......some violently angry..... That and the stress of my wife teaching in an impoverished environment in Hawaii (along with deep psychological trauma from her childhood) has triggered these conditions to arise.
My first and foremost duty is to protect my wife. This has not been an easy task. We are going to therapy to help deal with these issues and this week my wife has started taking medication. I haven't had the coping skills on how to deal with this. That and along with having a demanding IT job and working at Gamestop, this hasn't been an easy transition to paradise....... I am learning thanks to the counselor and also with helping to make our marriage better and coping and dealing with my own issues. I haven't forgotten about the contest nor the other commitments I have on this forum. I am just asking for patience so I may get my house in order. And I will post off and on when I have time This has been a great forum and I don't wish to lose what little comic cred that I do have on this forum. I am not asking for pity nor any handouts from anyone.......... Not my style......... I just want to share with everyone what's going on and I will try to make efforts to do the contest, post movie reviews, and other surprising things down the line I hope everything is going great with everyone and it feels good to post on the forum again. We're on your side and hope things get better!!! If we can wait for 3D cover Wednesdays, we can wait on a contest
When you are feeling stressed, concentrate on your breathing. It's amazing how simple that sounds, but it's a great way to relax and refocus. Relax your arms by your sides and take 5-10 deep breaths (or however many you need). I wish you and your wife the best!

Our thoughts and prayers are with you brother. The therapy and medication will help both you and your wife. It's natural to be afraid of something new: moving to a new place, changing relationships with friends/family, trying therapy, taking medication, etc. As somebody in the Med field, try to be patient. Give yourself time to adjust to your new life. Also note that anti-depressant meds can take weeks to kick in and like with all meds, there can be side-effects. Don't be afraid to talk about these things with each other and your Primary Doctors/Therapists. Remember, not everyone needs to take therapy or meds forever. Sometimes it just takes time to adjust and this is just a temporary thing. Keep your head up.

Sorry to hear that Phanos, you've always come across as a great guy & I really hope everything starts to sort itself out for you & the therapy etc is helping.
My thoughts are with you & your family It all comes down to priorities & when it comes to your family, comics are way way way down the list. All the best |
