Question Your opinion on 2013 Leaf Metal Draft

Other than not having the MLB logos, I really like this years product. The TOP PICKS autos are my favorite. Even though I haven't seen much breaking on here; what are your opinions of this product?

The look and design are great but the lack of logos kill it. By the time chrome and elite come out, this is almost forgotten about.

I love the design, am going for my first ever rainbow. Again, it sucks that they don't have autos.

Some of their designs are nice, but I cannot get past the lack of logo's. They just look strange.

I just wish more people were breaking this product.

I've been in a hit draft for about two 6-box cases, hit some great names and color but the prices just aren't there. Hit a Montero red /5, see it's going unsold for $40 OBO/BIN. Can't really expect much with it, the cards do seem to be nice.

Yep, seems unless a person hits a 1/1 or an Abreu they won't make much, or even break even. I still think some of the cards will sell well with hype though, could see the red doing really well on Montero's eventual call-up.

For me the cards have sold pretty well. I have sold several cards for way over the $40 margin. Much better than anything else we have opened in the past month. Actually thinking of getting another case and sending in a bulk bgs order soon.

I am holding on most of the color refractors and thinking about getting them graded as well.

I brought this question up before and the response seem to be about the same... Didn't break and boxes but bought up a lot of the autos I was looking for....great to add to my player collections before bowman releases 20+ cards for 1 player just in 1 release. again for the sellers that broke this it was a matter of breaking it early and getting them out early... The release that really hurts these autos is Bowman not so much Elite as they themselves do not have ability to use the logos either.... I really like the look of this product compared to last year...

I know it's overly simple, but...

No logos = no interest

I'm having a tough time acquiring a Jagielo autograph and therefore I hate it.

I was in 3 group breaks covering 14 loose boxes where each pick was an auto and made out well. Got a Bryant base auto, a Moran Top Picks /15, a JP Crawford State Pride /5, multiple Jagielo color and bought a Meadows Tops Picks /2. Nice cards, but yes, the lack of logos always effects prices. This year's design is nice and I think is a fair rival to the other big no logo, Elite.

Leaf dont hold value and if anything like the past an identical checklist will be released shortly with nicer cards thus destroying the value of these. Then Bowman comes along and these become basically "just minors" cards.

I think it holds value for the right players. Of course they won't be the same as Bowman Chrome autos, but if a player becomes hot, everything, including his Leaf Metal Draft auto, will rise. I mean, a Michael Wacha's 2012 Leaf Draft prismatic auto sold for $11.99 on October 12. The last Wacha prismatic auto sold for $40.

Again, not a rise like his Bowman Chrome autos, but if you had enough autos of him before he heated up, you could make a very nice profit.

I agree with you on that aspect.

It's a nice product for the few of us who can handle the lack of logos. The Wacha gem super prismatic just sold for over $800, so the market definitely can exist for the right prospects. It is also quite possible the only Metal cards that hold value best are the super prismatic 1/1s. It definitely has the same market as its rival Elite. While I completely understand chrome will be king for eternity, some of us can use the smaller market of Leafers when prospecting. I just picked up the Frazier Top Picks 1/1 at a fair price and that's what Leaf Metal provides is a expanded market for your prospect pc. After chrome, Leaf Metal auto 1/1s and Elite Black Status auto 1/1 sell for close to the same and give you a more wallet friendly alternative to the chrome super auto which costs so much for good players that is almost prohibitive.

I've opened 3 boxes this year and pulled a 1/1 DJ Peterson plate, /5 Meadows top draft picks, /10 Colin Moran State Pride, /25 Soler and a Bryant auto. I realize I lucked out big time with some of the names, but it seems each box has a guaranteed low numbered card. I for one am a big fan this year.
