Default 1957-58 Topps Basketball

Hello everyone, I had a question concerning the set. Hopefully you guys can help me out. I got a 1957-58 Topps card in the mail a while ago. The thing that throws me off though is that the back is upside down.

My question is, are they supposed to be that way?

And when I turn it over….

I don't know for certain, but I would guess that is how they made the card. If the sheet was turned around during printing, it would be a wrong-back.

Topps still does this from time-to-time. Brock Lesnar had an upside down back in a UFC set.

Really? That just seems very odd to me. All the other sets that ive seen including some vintage ones have all had a "normal back". I suppose to be more certain id have to get one or 2 more cards from the set

The rest of the set should should have "normal backs".

On occasion, Topps will have a card in a set that has the back upside down. It didn't really affect value, because all of the same card has the back upside down. It is really a design flaw more than anything.

Find another Jack McMahon card to see if the back is also upside down.

Basketball Cards - 1957 Topps

The cards were printed in top-to-top fashion on press sheets, making half of the backs upsidedown relative to the fronts when sorted by number.

THAT WILL BE $50 PLEASE ;o) (only 4 years later)
