How can you say this? Without Miller the "Sabers" would probably have less than 5 wins this year. His save % is .927. Buffalo is 27th in shots against in the league...

I agree. Miller has had his down seasons, but certainly not this year. He's the only reason the Sabres might reach 25 wins.

Bummed no Saad, Leddy, or Crawford

At least Toews, Kane, Hossa and possibly some Swedes on D

Canada is my prediction although missing Stamkos in olympics blows too

I will be pulling for Team USA but Canada is stacked and it would be a huge embarrasing failure if they didnt win gold.

I wish I cared more for international hockey....larger ice, severe penalties for fighting and roughing, and quickly blown whistles. International hockey is for sissies

Canada is going to be a tough defending gold medalist.

Russia should be fun to watch. can't count out the USA, Swedes, Fins.

You could make a Canada B team and it would still be a contender.

I haven't been following the Olympic squad make-ups for this year, but I wouldn't bet against Canada.

Russia will be the team to be feared this year. It will take near perfect hockey to beat them on home ice; you have to be strong enough defensively to hold their high octane offense to the boards and not let them into the slot, fast enough to skate with them on the big ice, disciplined enough to stay out of the box and keep them off the powerplay, and you have to score enough to keep up with them if you fail at the above. Their weakness will be defensive depth so you need four lines capable of keeping the pressure on and whatever you do don't stop hitting them.

I am a Canadian who wants nothing more than to see us defend our gold from 2010 but at the same time I can't help but be worried about facing Russia at any point in the tournament. They are going to be skilled and highly motivated just like we were in Vancouver and you can't underestimate the power of home ice in a tournament like this.
