Default help with old ball from estate sale

Just picked this up. Any chance that this is a game used ball? Is there any way to authenticate it? I looked up the game on baseball reference and they did play on 13 Aug 1924 with the same score marked on the ball. Its on an official ball that would have been used during that time period. Thanks in advance fellas

Also Picked up these pins, is their any difference with the charms value wise? I see some on ebay with different charms, these appear to be original to the pin.

I don't know how anyone can say, with certainty, it was game used. But I'm sure it was at the game. Why else would the date and score be on it?

Maybe a kids first game? I love stuff like this. There is a story behind this ball. And I'd love to hear it.

Exactly why I bought it, piece of Pittsburgh history!

I don't have any knowledge, but my opinion on it is it is either game used or a batting practice used ball? Possibly whoever got it then wrote the score and date for them to remember when they got it. I know whenever I have received a ball from a player which hasn't been many, I use to write the score and date as well. I would never do that now, but as a kid I did. Very very cool finds! Thanks for sharing!

Great find! I think it definitely would make a lot of sense if it was game used.

The kid who nabbed this ball 90 years ago saw a game which featured nine future hall of famers.

Ross Youngs
Frankie Frisch
Hack Wilson
Travis Jackson
Bill Terry
Max Carey
Kiki Cuyler
Pie Traynor
Rabbit Maranville

And a tenth if you count third base umpire Hank O'Day.
