Why would the Kobe so off-cut?

How can the LeBron get a 9.5 for corners when the card has no corners?!?

At this point they are part of the population....
Adapt: buy them stop splitting hairs, or stay away from them.
Black and white issue if you ask me

Oh goodness, not this again!

http://www.blowoutcards.com/forums/b...-kencoped.html

Is Ken Cope the seller of these? Or did the person buy the sheets off him?

"Adapt" LOL

My condolences to those who collect these cards and don't already have LEGIT copies of their players / LEGIT cards if set building.

You're absolutely right. I mean whats the difference between a colour photocopy auto and an authentic auto? They look the same and now is apart of the population right? Totally a black and white issue here.

The BGS serial numbers indicate that they were graded before uncut sheet auction. These are probably real.

Pretty sure that is not the only uncut sheet in the world. It is just getting so hard to track everything.

All depends exactly when the Bankruptsy sales started...

I personally would stick with cards before before any Bankruptsy sales. The only real safe way. Did any sheets leak out before then? Anyone's guess... Not impossible though. Companies need to get their stuff straight, and learn how to destroy cards after a certain date to prevent hobby destruction like this.

that's a very good start to establishing some kind of provenance. There are also other characteristics to look for that can help distinguish between pack pulled vs. sheet cut. However, it's very tough to get 100% certainty these days.

As someone who bought a 97-98 Jambalaya I can say if you do your research the sheet cut versions usually pop out. For one, almost all of the Ken Cope versions have centering issues. In fact, due to the stock of the card and the type of plastic material, it is hard to get a bad grade on these cards. There are more 9.5 graded by BGS than there are 9's or 8.5s. Poor centering and uneven borders is likely the first sign it may not be a packed out version

Look at this PWCC Auction. It is badly off center. I'd almost guarantee this is a cope version that someone couldn't move.
