Default 1989 Score Football Case

I have a guy here close to meet that has been sitting on a case for a long time. He told me he would sell for $3000. Should I take it or not?

As awesome as that sounds - imagine hunting through all those see-through backs to see how many Barry Sanders are on the backs! - I would take a pass. Score was perceived to be incredibly scarce for a long time, until the collecting community realized it was only scarce compared to the MASS produced Pro Set and Topps sets. I don't think you would get slaughtered ripping the case, grading the best conditioned rookie cards of Sanders, Aikman, Irvin, etc., and flipping as many "1 time hand collated" sets as you can make, then the graded singles, but you would still be looking at a loss at that price. If you're looking for nostalgic fun, do it. If you're looking to try and break even or make a buck, forget it.

You have to offer him less, I think that sounds high at that price. How many boxes come in it and If you do buy 1, Ill trade you sumthin for 1, Id imagine you could get quite a few Aikmans and Sandmans in a case but they have lost value

I wouldn't do it for 3-large, but I do love the '89 draft class. I mean, come on...4 out of the first 5 picks are Hall-of-Famers (Aikman, Barry Sanders, Derrick Thomas, & Deion, who will be in the HOF soon).

Well, as long as it is a 20 box case - that is actually a reasonable price. Sealed boxes go for more that $175 a pop and your paying $150 a box for a sealed case. Not a bad price really. We are talking wax and not the factory sets though, right?
Currently looking for the following comic Books:
United Comics: 21,22,23,24,26
Tip Top: 173 & 184
Peanuts 1 (1953)

Way too much. You can pick up BGS 9.5s for not that much.
