Default Favorite Pick-ups JANUARY 2015

I didn't break any boxes this month (unless you count the Marvel Premier 2 group breaks), so all of my favorite pick-ups are sketch cards. I added quite few that I really like to my personal collection this month.

I had this Spider-Man sketch card on my watch list for years. YEARS!!! Anyway, it was marked down to reasonable price so I grabbed it.

My only AP commission from the Classic Mythology II set, and my first AP from Eric McConnell. He is awesome to work with and really knocked this Medusa out of the park!

Been wanting to add one of Dean Yeagle's sketch cards to my collection pretty much for as long as I've been collecting. Well... Finally had an opportunity to get one at a price I was okay with. Then another opportunity popped up a few weeks later and I couldn't pass it by. When it rains, it pours? One Suzette and one Mandy for your viewing pleasure

Honorable mentions this month. A pair of Beauty & the Myth sketch cards: James 'Bukshot' Bukauskas and Lak Lim. Love the gorgon, and... Damn! Look at the detail Lak put into that card. Also a Black Cat from the lovely Danielle 'Soloud' Gransuall and my Hallowe'en AP from Alexis Sarah Hill.

Net exactly non-sports cards, but so so related... I've been on an original trading card art kick ever since I got that Dastick for my Christmas. Added this Amber Shelton (Perna Studios Classic Mythology) and Juri Chinchilla (Perna Studios Spellcasters, finished digitally) to my growing collection this month. Have my eye of a few more for February. Both are 8.5x11.

I showed you mine. Now show me yours!

I'm still waiting on a few things, but here are some of my favorites

First Alicia 1/1

Two big ones for my GOTG set

Finally picked these two up...figured I should get them before Tomorrowland comes out in case it causes a price jump

Picked this up for less than $50...going for the three Lord of the Rings sets this year

So, between December and January I have an actual collection now. 2 Wardrobe and 6 autographs... and the one chase set :P Connor Jessup is a little young, but since he's really making Falling Skies for me he gets to be a Rookie in my Hot Guy collection. I'd seriously considered trying to pass on the Manu Bennett card because so far all of my pickups have been a lot more <$15, but the picture they chose sealed that deal. Can't regret it >_>

Honorable mention goes to my new hard drive, since my computer crash ate any other discretionary spending money I had -_-

Can't miss an opportunity to give props to TWO amazing boardies - Tim Proctor (for the art) and GUCD (for the booklet).

My only other sketch addition was the Meghan Hetrick right after New Years.

I can't believe Jan. is over already.

Slow month, but this vintage Rocket Raccoon "card" came up on my eBay search. Not bad for a $6 purchase! First appearance of Rocket Raccoon?

Got a few boxes of Smallville various seasons and picked up some autographs and pieceworks cards. Allison Mack the best Smallville card barely ever surfaces anywhere. There were 10 boxes to a case of Smallville season 1 and I think 1/10 odds for all the autographs. Weird why this one seems so hard to come by?
Got all the good ones and only need some common autographs to have a master set.

It was a good month for the PC, but I'd have to single this one out as my favorite:

Tony Perna - 5x7 original art for Brahma frosted clear chase card from Classic Mythology
