2014 Platinum Blaster Case

Has anyone opened any '14 Platinum blasters? I have this arriving today. 16 blaster boxes.

I know there are retail exclusive camo autos and a chance at a Bryant but I'm pretty sure I've also seen 1 or 2 people hit the 2013 Draft Bryant Auto out of these as well. Can anyone confirm this?

Anyone hit anything good out of these or had any luck with Bowman Platinum blasters this year?

Yes, Bryant Draft autos have come out of retail. I did well with the rack packs, hit a dual auto of Baez/Almora /25, hit a camo refractor of Courtney Hawkins and some good color from blasters (gold refractors, blue auto/relics, and some green and blue autos). Out of 16, you should see a few autos, maybe five or six, an auto/relic (probably blue /199 as they are retail exclusives) and a handful of numbered refractors. Best of luck, I'm assuming you got a pretty good deal on these. One thing to keep in mind, the Toolsy diecuts have a tough pull item, the 5 Tool Player die cuts. They are tough pulls, keep an eye out, they say 5 Tool Player on the side.

Also, I had great luck with the 2013 blasters, pulled two Yasiel Puig Auto redemptions. Platinum is one of those products that yields well in retail, unfortunately the resale value is terrible.

Very cool. I've pulled a couple of the regular "Toolsy" diecuts but none of the 5 tool. I will keep any eye out for those. Crossing my fingers on any and all Bryants. Thanks for the helpful info!

I actually pulled two Bryant 2013 chrome autos, a Trout Cutting Edge auto #/25, and two Buxton Cutting Edge autos #/25 out of blasters. (Opened a lot of them).

Wow! Either you weren't kidding when you said you opened a lot or you're just that lucky. Congrats on the hits!

If you had to guess on the odds of a '13 Bryant Chrome auto in blasters, what would you think? 1:100 blasters? Over/under?

I probably opened 40-50 blasters over the 4-5 months they were on the shelves.

Pretty damned good odds to be honest. The same $1k ish on hobby probably doesn't even get you close to as good of a return as you ended up with. The two Bryants alone could get your money back and leave the Buxton, Trout and everything else as a bonus.

Agreed, that's some good luck there though as I'm sure I opened 30 or 40 blasters of Platinum last year. I got crazy lucky with Hobby, I only bought two boxes. The first one came from eBay, and yielded a Draft Bryant Auto, and a redemption for a Green Baez auto. I bought a second box, needless to say it wasn't anywhere close to that. I'll miss Platinum as it was probably my favorite retail break, I don't have a shop anywhere near me so I end up breaking a good amount of retail.

Not as good as hitting a bryant but not a bad break.

I think putting some of the Bryants into retail was a terrible idea. I wonder how many of those autos we will never see because some kid picked up a box and is impressed with his shiny card with writing from some guy he's never heard of on it.

Lol, how many kids you know with 20 bucks to blow on baseball cards? I like that they put autos like that in retail, gives people that don't have local shops a shot at something big.

Is the 2013 Bryant only in the Blaster boxes of retail? I have opened about a case of hobby, like 60-70 of those 3 pack retail packs with the purple Refractors, and maybe 10 of the Blaster boxes. I pulled a bowman black violet /10 and a base auto out of hobby, but nothing special out of any of the retail packs.

bought like 8 blasters. pulled an eduardo rodriguez red auto #/25, ratterree camo auto #/35, Arismandy Alcantara atomic refractor #/5, Miguel sano blue auto #/199, couple base autos. A bunch of bryant and abreu cards i sold as lots. Probably came close to making my money back on everything. Kept a Gabe Ynoa blue auto for the Mets PC. Its a fun break

This was from like 3 different stores.

It was in Hobby and retail, I pulled one from a hobby box.
