I sold an item on eBay last night, woke up to someone who hit a BIN on a very high priced item. The buyer is in Spain.
My issues with this: The person has 0 eBay history with an account that has been open since 2012 and is verified. The item was listed as shipping through the Global Shipping Program. I usually wouldn't question this, but being a high priced item and the person with 0 feedback i'm just wondering if i'm walking into some sort of scam, if that's even possible with the Global Shipping Program. Does anyone have any experience with the GSP? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have sent cards to Indonesia and Japan with the GSP. I sent the cards to the shipping place and never thought about it again. Great program, had no problems with it.

i think (may be wrong) but as long as your package makes it to the third party shipping center that ebay has it sent to, then you are clear for shipping and it becomes their responsibility
right?

That's correct. Once it gets signed for at the KY shipping center, I have never had any further issues. I have had a handful of packages that got obviously damaged between KY and the final global destination but ebay paid for the damages.

I have someone in Germany interested in one of my cards. He wants to know how much shipping is. If I used the global shipping program how do I know where to send it? When the person buys my card does the US address automatically show up on the shipping label when I print it?
Thanks in advance for any help.

The GSP is a shipping ripoff for the customers, but its a less worry on us. Its cheaper for a buyer to buy from a seller who ships international via USPS than it is from the GSP...

So does the buyer end up paying additional money for them to ship it out? I'm sorry, I don't understand how it works.

Yes, they pay the shipping from you to Kentucky, and then shipping from Kentucky to their country plus import taxes. Most people in other countries don't want you to use the GSP because those import taxes can be steep, and if you send directly through USPS to them it may not be taxed, whereas eBay adds it automatically. And supposedly, eBay charges import taxes on countries where they don't have import taxes. I'm not sure where that money actually ends up.
