I wonder if this thread will get as many views and comments as the 2017 TH thread?

That is my major concern. Every time we have a Topps product that is done well, they butcher the next 3-4 years worth of the same product or its sister product.

i know topps is not totally to blame for the disaster that is 2016 HH#, but even if they just got ONE of the big rookies into it that they are relying upon this year, it would have been just fine.

if Torres is up in May, he BETTER be in 2017 HH#

Agreed!

That said, I did buy 2 cases of 2016 HHN before the spike. I'm going to take my chances on pulling a decent auto or two. I'm sure nothing will compare to the case TarjetasBeisbol opened. So far, just a Stephenson blue & a Snell Red. Let's hope it gets better!

Daniel Robertson will get called up, mash, and carry this product on his back. Look out for his $150 RO autos.

Probably not as many ... I put it over there, too.

With all the buzz for this seasons new Rc class I am just curious how 2017 Heritage High # is being down played due to the lack of RC content. I thought before Heritage was released the craze was due to it being the design from the 1968 season and hype did not kick off for the RC,s until well after release but yet no one is big on this years HHN because of the lack of a decent RC class. So is there no chance Topps will include any of the current Rcs (other than Moncada on White Sox) that are in regular Heritage release to have a 2nd Rc, errors, throwbacks or action variations in High# to help carry it?

As for me I am already in for a case from BO and am saving $ for all the retail I can find. Any one else excited and impatient for High # yet? I know it is 3 months away and in the regular thread it was reported as Topps rep insider info as no chance for Bellinger and Happ but anyone care to speculate on content?

I think after seeing how weak 2016 HHN was, I'm hoping this will be a more solid product coming off 2017 Heritage...

I thought the cutoff was all star break to get a player in Update and High #. However, I read that same post that Happ, Arroyo, & Bellinger would not be in the product. It doesn't make sense to me and seems like Topps is missing a golden opportunity to add a lot of interest to this product.

If they don't have those guys it's going to be a terrible product. Who's headlining in that case? Seriously I can't think of any rookie that wasn't in Heritage that would be a big hit. I'm sure I'm missing somebody, maybe.

Where did you see this post? The only post I saw was someone asking Sooz the cutoff date for new rookies. She said that S2 and Chrome were done and that HHN was close to done, but she never specifically mentioned which rookies missed the cut for which products.

Arroyo, Bellinger, and Happ are most likely IN because Topps already gave them rookie logos in Topps NOW. Last year Topps stopped the rookie logos at a certain point and made "Call-up" cards with no logo. The fact that those three all have the rookie logo leads me to believe they will be in.

Yep.... It is a fun break and good resale the first week..

But to maintain it needs those RCs really bad...

2016 HHN was as low as 40-42 dollars after release....

Unless I missed understood a few of the large scale breakers I spoke with, I believe cut off for this is actually this week. Potentially will have Bellinger and Happ in it. Even then can those two carry the product? Thats the real question.

I'm in, but only for a dice roll 2 case deal.

Topps is too stubborn when it comes to this release. All they have to do is put another Sporting News subset into the product with ALL of the rookies, including Benny, Judge, Bregman, etc and it will do fine. The sell sheet proves that they've already found creative ways to give guys like Kris Bryant another card too, so why not do the same with the rookies? They could do rookie debuts, call ups, milestones, etc. and fill the base set out nicely.

HHN should feel more like Topps Update IMO. Topps update base sets are usually pretty loaded because all rookies and stars get a second card. They shouldn't be afraid to give anyone a second card in HHN either.
