Its hard to find nice high end football stuff anymore at shows, I went to a show today and the best card I saw was a Brett Favre Chrome auto /50 and of course they guy was obnoxious and said he'd sell it for 400! I could've bought a flawless 1/1 favre auto for 300 lol and I think a flawless 1/1 is better than a chrome /50.

Nationals was even terrible in NJ, I heard I was considered a really bad show compared to other years like Chicago. Maybe card shows are awful by us.

Yeah, most of the time if there is anything it's so overpriced its comical i.e. one dealer had a 2013 aaron judge bowman chrome for $100 (said he was firm on his price) only twice what they go for on eBay lol.

I thought it was quite reasonable for what they were Rodgers 3 color exquisite (four if you count the blue swatch) and Brady Paradigm (1/25) have about 2700 wrapped up in the two.

Wow, was it at Southbridge Mall? That's a pretty impressive haul for there! How many tables were set up?

I'm from the area and in the early 90's, that place used to be jam packed for a card show.

Yes it was, there were maybe 25-30 tables. There are a ton of small shows in the area just depends on who shows if there is anything worth while or not. The show in Marion (Cedar Rapids area) is usually the best... Working on getting a much bigger show set up regularly in Des Moines.

Should have snagged it now but I completely understand where your coming from some dealers just won't budge

Do the small town folk know about eBay or were you able to get a deal?

Fantastic purchases. Every time I hear anybody discuss Iowa I have to check to see how far it is away from Spencer. Yes, I read the book on "Dewie", but it's more than about a rescued cat, more about how those in Iowa bond as a community. Great book and Great finds. Hope you keep doing well in the future.

Dang you threw down some coin. I've been very fortunate at my local shows in Marion/Cedar Rapids.

I set up at that show all the time. One of the better ones around. Same people trying to set up on in Des Moines.

Try getting a hold of Tonsofcommons on here - I believe that's his name. He puts on shows in Iowa. I believe he did/does one in Urbandale every so often, although I could be wrong.

Yeah, the biggest problem with the urbandale show id's there is literally a ton of commons lol. I know of several people with amazing stuff that will not do that show because 80% off the 20ish tables are common junk boxes.

Finding good cards is definately an issue at local shows here. With Ebay making the good cards so liquid they just get sold on ebay and all the dreck is left over for the shows.

That's not a huge issue for people with stuff here. Within two hours of Des Moines I know of six different people who routinely set up at the fanatics and or the national in Chicago. It's just not worth the time to set up at a 20 table show that is know for common junk boxes.

Come on over to monthly show in Omaha. Usually around 20 tables with some usually good foot traffic.
