Default Amazing BGS Submission with pics

I sent all my heritage to PSA and didn't get great results, went 0 for 15 on one of my submissions and felt PSA screwed me over big time. I made a thread about that so I should make a thread with my new submission to BGS. Sent in 30 cards and had the most amazing sub of my life.

I knew this would not gem, I bought it with some chipping but being a harder to notice 1/1 had to have it slabbed up anyway.

1. Topps Pro Debut Gleyber Torres Image Variation 1/1 Black Refractor 8/10

2. 15 Christin Stewart Base Auto - 9/10

On to the gems....
3. 16 Anderson Espinoza Base Auto 9.5/10

4. 17 Gleyber Torres Base Auto 9.5/10

5. 17 Nick Senzel Base Auto 9.5/10

6. 17 AJ Puckett Gold Shimmer Auto /50 9.5/10

7. 17 Luis Carpio Gold Auto 23/50 9.5/10

8. 14 Manuel Margot Base Auto 9.5/10

9. 17 Gypsy Queen Yoan Moncada Base Auto 9.5/10

10. 17 Gypsy Queen Yoan Moncada Base Auto 9.5/10

11. Yoan Moncada Acetate 1/10 9.5

12. Andrew Benintendi Rookie Variation (Action) 9.5

13. Andrew Benintendi Rookie Variation (Action) 9.5

14. Topps Update Clayton Kershaw Rookie 9.5 Just picked up at card show

15. Topps Pro Debut Gleyber Torres Image Variation 9.5

This right here would of been a fantastic sub, amazing subgrades, but this is where it gets really crazy....

16. 17 Heriage Judge Real One Blue Auto 10/9 BOOOM not mad at the 9 auto it was expected, 2 smudges on Judge. Would you sell as is or crossver to PSA 10?

17. 17 Josh Ockimey Base Auto 10/10

18. Jason Groome Gold Chrome 13/50 10

19. 17 Christian Arroyo Refractor Auto 10/10

20. 17 Chance Adams Blue Auto 56/150 10/10

21. 17 Ronald Acuna Base Auto 10/10

22. 17 Ronald Acuna Refractor Auto 10/10

23. 17 Blake Rutherford Purple Auto /250 10/10

24. 17 Kevin Matain Base Auto 10/10

25. 17 Kevin Matian Purple Auto /250 10/10

....Still gets crazier

26. 17 Patrick Weigel Gold Shimmer Auto /50 10/10 Black Label

27. 17 Jason Groome Base Auto 10/10 Black Label

28. 17 Christian Arroyo Refractor Auto /499 10/10 Black Label

29. Gleyber Torres Purple Chrome /250 10 Black Label

30. 17 Gleyber Torres Purple Auto /250 10/10 Black Label

Obviously couldn't be happier with the results. PSA is now dead to me but I did submit 1 card to them so i'll post that up as well.

Thanks for looking 2017 Bowman was the best!

A thirty card submission and 5 black labels? Mark my words. BGS will not exist as a company after 2018.

Sorry OP, wasn't trying to steal your thunder. But half of these cards grading a 10 is an absolute travesty. And to think that a third of those are black label? If this becomes the norm, what does it do to all of the 9.5s that have ever been purchased? Beckett is in self destruct mode.

I hope for the sake of my entire stash that you are the luckiest person to ever get cards graded.

These were my 30 cards but it was apart of a larger submission. Was Also put in by a large group breaker who I think gets favoritism over a regular submission. The whole order did overly well but I believe I was the only person to hit any black labels, were other high end pristines. I opened almost all of these and I do wear gloves while opening and prepped all gently with qtip. I'm very happy with the results but totally understand the problems with consistency and was amazed by the results.

Thank you to everyone who said congrats or kind words.

What did you do with the qtips?

I go over the surface gently and get off any dust/debris, go over any small scratches or marks see if they can be worked off. Sometimes I'll put a little moisture on 1 end of the tip and go over with the dry tip right after and that works pretty well.

Congrats OP on the great return.

Maybe it's the pics but the 10 centering on the 2017 Bowman doesn't seem real consistent either.

Sounds dangerous to me. The qtip has a hard point underneath that can definitely put a scratch in the card. Obviously worked for you but cotton could come off also and go on the card.

I haven't had any issues with the qtips, it's a very gentle brushing so not worried about getting to the hard tip. What do you use for cleaning your surface? This has been the easiest method for me but I know you got a different bag of tricks.

Will they exist as an independent contractor? They aren't going anywhere!

If you angle it there is nothing to worry about. If you saw how hard I wipe cards with a microfiber cloth you'd probably cringe. Rarely ever get less than a 10 surface.

Rutgers - this is not BGS's fault. Topps is using better equipment to produce the cards which helps with grading.

Here's how I see BGS grading in the last four years.

2013 - Super easy to grade.

2014 - seems like the back of cards were always OC. Corner issues too.

2015 - Front of the card and back were so hard to grade.

2016 - Similar to 2013 imo.

2017 - easiest product to grade that I have seen. Corners are tough at times but overal very easy to grade.

2015 Still don't know how they evaluate front centering.

2016 Bowman had horrible corners
2016 bowman draft had the worst centering I've seen in a while

Haha same here on 2015. I've seen some look OC and get 10s.

Admittedly, OP could potentially be the best grader in the industry, but never have I ever seen someone pull a 50% pristine rate. Honestly, 20% would be a stretch, let alone 50%. Granted, it's just one order, but orders like this scare me. Beckett has been under a lot of scrutiny recently. They made changes to their policies that have to have affected their bottom line. The National is a month away and I wouldn't be surprised if July winds up being, National aside, their slowest month in years.

I guess the question that needs to be answered is, how many other tens came from this submission? From my experience, inexperienced graders run at a 5% pristine rate and usually they get hit with 9s 3x more than tens. Were there any other black labels in the order and, if so, at what frequency were cards in the whole batch getting slabbed pristine?

There's no wagering on this site but if there were I'd bet you any amount of money you want and give you 10-1 odds that you're wrong.
