Default Trade rumors

Of all the trade rumors starting to float around, as a fan of your particular team, who are you hoping they trade/trade for? As a Cubs fan, I've heard Fulmer's name recently with Schwarber being a name that could be in on the trade. I'd take that in a heartbeat since Kyle is destined for the AL(DH) and the Cubs need pitching really bad. Also, I've heard Dee Gordon's name pop up quite a bit recently, as the Cubs also need a true leadoff hitter. What are your thoughts in regards to your team and the trade deadline.

Even if the Cubs acquired Gordon, Maddon would probably bat him cleanup

As a Sox fan, I'd like to see us get a 3B and a reliever (a power arm. No more LOOGY or sinkerballer types)

That's true and he'd have some dumb excuse as to why he should be batting cleanup..

If it's Schwarber and mid/lower prospects for Fulmer, Yes please!! Everything I've read says Fulmer is untouchable as far as trades go... The Cubs are going to acquire a young controlled arm for sure, doubt its Fulmer though...

That would be a terrible trade for DET. ChC would have to throw in more. I don't think Schwarber has much real value right now. He's broken. Plus, Theo loves him.

I want HOU to get another starter. Even when Kuechel comes back, they are a power arm short. I like Archer a lot and think he'd be even better getting out of the East. I'm sure it would take a bit and I'd be fine with them trading Fisher, Tucker, Martes. Just not all of them.

Also, I don't know his contract situation, but since SF is done, I'd love to see Span in the OF mix in HOU. If a low level prospect or two gets that done, I'd do it.

I hope the Brewers do absolutely nothing. There is zero chance they will win the division.

Wait... We're talking about Michael Fulmer for Schwarber and some prospects? Yeah right....

For the Twins, we still need some pitching. However, we aren't true contenders this year and should stay true to our timeline that really starts in another year or two. We aren't there yet, but we're getting closer. I would absolutely hate to see us buy a half season rental, but if we can move a prospect or two, even some of our better ones, for a solid pitcher that is under contract for a few years, I'm on board. We could also use some bullpen help, as could just about every team in the MLB. All that said, I don't see the Twins making any major moves this year, and that's probably alright

The A's will trade Sonny, and get mediocre (at best) prospects in return.

I think the Tigers should trade Fulmer, because they need a lot of players. They can't rebuild around a "young core" of exactly one player, in my opinion. Trading for a young DH would be dumb, though. The American League only needs 15 starting DH and I doubt there will ever be a shortage of players who "profile as a DH right now".

The Dodgers are mentioned as buyers sometimes lately. But at 61-29 or whatever, how much do they really need to buy? Same for Houston. Washington, though...

I look forward to reading what Washington might be able to trade, and in a general sense across MLB systems, which young positional prospects are definitely blocked by high quality starters above them in MLB.

Everyone is talking about how badly the Cubs need a controllable SP. While I don't disagree, I certainly don't think that is what is going to push them over the edge this year. Their offense has been pathetic this year. They had Ben Zobrist and his .214 BA hitting cleanup going into the AS break, and outside of Rizzo, Bryant, and Happ, their offense is anemic. 20th in runs scored this year!

If I'm the Brewers, I make the move to go get one of those starters that's available. The White Sox could use some additional prospects in the OF and I think they'd match up nicely for a trade involving Quintana.

I've heard from a pretty reliable source that Quintana will get the WS 3-4 top 100 prospects. They should be set for the future!

I wonder how many teams are thinking "Can we beat the Dodgers [or Houston]?" and how many are thinking "Let's just get to the Playoffs", before they decide to become "buyers"

(My team doesn't have this conundrum this year)

I'm a mariners fan and I hope they buy in big or sell off. They have a great team that can't seem to put anything together

heard the schwarber/fulmer rumors as well....good god its not even close...even if this was fresh off his post-season its not close...he is no good in the OF....Tigs have miggy/victor at 1b/dh...so this trade would have to come after trading atleast one of those guys...but either way...its just not close in value...

honestly for Fulmer i think it would have to be like Happ, Eloy, Cease, Schwarber as a throw in i guess....maybe that gets close...maybe...

if they want D.Norris i would not mind moving him for Happ...depends how badly Cubs want a young arm...

I thought you loved Schwarber... Kidding aside, I would say Eloy, Happ, and Cease could get you Fulmer, but I can't see it actually happening...

Your miserable attempts at trying to be funny at my expense are pathetic and yet flattering. So thanks.

I'm a Tigers fan.

Trade anyone except Fulmer.

J.D., Justin Wilson, Kinsler (if a contender has a 2B go down, he becomes a top target), whoever. Even Verlander - I'd love to see him traded to a World Series contender, and get a WS ring.

TB is in the race unless they lose every game from here til July 31st Archer is going nowhere.

Archer has been Great this year, but hasn't been the main reason there in the hunt. I think Moving him might cost them a Playoff spot, but if they could get 3-4 guys in Return or something like Baez, (I think Cubs Move 1 of Russell/Bae/Schwarber by start of 2018) so Baez, Underwood, Candelario and De La Cruz they make a move. They could potentially replace Archer in the Rotation and add a couple of pieces to a line up.

But, I'm still on the Quintana to Milwaukee train. I don't like it unless they get Brinson which I don't think would be in it, but it makes sense. Milwaukee gets a chance to go for it this year. If they fall out, the have Q and Braun for Next year to trade at the deadline.

I say trade the entire farm if it means one more shot at glory. Moore has had an excellent track record and I'm willing to sacrifice the future one more time for 2017!!!
