Default Cubs give Bartman a WS ring

Good for them, not sure if he wants it or not? At the very least the guy could sell it.

Did you read his statement? It sounds like he's happy to have it and said it'll be in his family for generations

Good for the Cubs for trying to help make up for what Bartman's had to endure. It's not fair and never should have happened

I did not see his statement but that is great. I was worried because it was so hard for him that maybe it would be unwelcome, but that is a nice close to an unfortunate situation.

Cool move on the Cubs' part. Now please leave the poor man alone for the rest of his life.

Has he thrown out the first pitch yet this season? I think that would be a cool thing to do and get the ring at the same time, in front of everyone at Wrigley.

He declined the opportunity to do so before one of the WS games last year. He just wants to keep the spotlight off of him, he's been through enough

What was wrong with the 30 for 30? I took from it that he was wronged. If anything gave him some more sympathy.

He didn't want it done and he wasn't in it.

No fan of the Cubs but agree with others that this is a classy move on their part.

As for the Catching Hell doc, it deserved making with or without Bartman's consent. I thought it was excellent. Either way, he deserves tons of respect for the way he's seemingly retained his dignity through it all.

Really wish he would do an interview under his terms. Would like to hear his thoughts looking back at how terrible he was treated. 99% of people would've done the same thing.

The guy is so humble and gracious despite the way he was treated. I think a lot of people in society today could learn a thing or two from the way he handled himself. I hope it truly brings some closure to over a decade of having to put up with idiots.

He should put it on his middle finger and walk down Michigan holding it up for all to see.

In today's world, his haters would only use his words against him. The man is smart for staying out of the spotlight. The moronic fans that went after him are clueless. The team blew that game, no Alou, not Bartman, but the team. Sports fans who made Steve's life miserable should be ashamed of themselves. The Cubs gave up something like 8 runs that inning. Yeah, some fan grabbing a ball out of pure excitement is to blame. Get real.

You can still record an out on a foul ball. Not sure why you keep saying that.

Alou wasn't catching that ball.

Nor was Tarasco going to catch that HR in the infamous Jeffrey Maier game.
