Default 2 boxes of Definitive.....need some advice!

So I ordered two boxes of Definitive from BO and I need some advice on a damaged box. Box 2 was mostly damaged with some good cards. First the results.

Box 1:
Stephen Piscotty Autographed Relic 05/10
Corey Seager/Julio Urias Dual Autograph 2/5
Ozzie Smith Autographed Relic 07/40
Ozzie Smith "The Wizard" Autograph 01/35
Maikel Franco Autographed Relic 16/50
Ryan Braun Jumbo Patch Relic 08/50
Jose Bautista Jumbo Patch Relic 11/15
Jacoby Jones Rookie Autograph 1/1

Box 2:
Jorge Alfaro Rookie Autograph 39/50
Matt Carpenter Autographed Relic 46/50
Noah Syndergaard/Jacob deGrom Dual Autograph Redemption
Mike Trout/Bryce Harper Dual Autograph Patch Redemption
Julio Urias "Never Give Up" Autograph 30/35 (Damaged)
Christian Yelich Jumbo Patch Relic 2/5 (Damaged)
Derek Jeter Autographed Relic 7/10 (Damaged)
Justin Upton Helmet Relic 15/25 (Damaged)

Box 2 came with one of the side flaps loose which allowed the cards to slide all around. The cards were all flopping around in there. What do I do? Contact Topps?

Sorry about the damage. That being said, that second box was amazing! You can contact Topps about the damage. With such a highend product, I'd hope they'd be more helpful than normal. Anyway, congrats on a great break!!!

I've seen a bunch of case breaks and unfortunately, that's how a LOT of the boxes looked in terms of damage. I'd def contact Topps to see if you can get replacements for the damaged cards (if you ccare about waiting for months and potentially not getting anything back in return). Box two was pretty amazing though. Congrats

I am a big fan of topps..

But that is the most pathetic thing i have seen in my 20 years in hobby

800-900 dollar box.... And they just throw cards in a box

Could not agree more. But...

As long as they have no (real) competition...nothing will change.

My advice would been to stay away from it after seeing how they packaged most of these and didn't care about the cards sliding. Nice hits and cards but not worth their price.

wow what a fantastic break to. I don't understand hoe a product so expensive the could package so poorly. At least put them in a fitted box like Immaculate or NT.... I would be all over Topps on this one. I have had luck in the past with damage replacements but this is just awful...

I tweeted Topps customer service last night with the pictures. Not sure if that will do anything. I may hit their Facebook too. I don't want them to just field a call about it, I want them to see the pictures.

Crazy that clearly authentic and archives signature, $50 boxes, come with mags and an $800-$1000 box doesn't. I think most would pay the extra $10 in cost to have their cards protected.

Unreal...definitely for the price you pay these should come mags or at the very least much better protection. Hopefully they make it right for you...great break though otherwise!

If you want to move the Braun patch let me know...thanks!

So I've tweeted Topps and sent a complaint to customer support including pictures. I now have a reference # for my complaint. I will update with what they tell me.

The Jeter card is what kills me the most. That is every bit of a $800+ card.

Ok so a bit of an update. Since posting, I've examined the cards a little more and they aren't in too bad of shape considering they were flopping around in the box. The one that is hurt the most is the Justin Upton helmet card which I'm ok with. The rest of the cards, including the Jeter, is still in pretty good shape. Only one of the corners had a worse than normal ding but I was able to press it back and make it look a little better. So not all is lost.

As for Topps customer service. I got nothing more from them than the standard "fill out out our damaged product form and send your cards in with all of the necessary support blah blah". I told them no way in hell was I sending in these cards for replacement since they have a horrible history with that sort of thing. They told me there have policies in place for dealing with this sort of thing and there is nothing they can do if I don't want to follow it.

I was not going to send in high-dollar cards, especially the Jeter, just so I could probably get back something worth 5 times less. I decided to forget the whole thing and list my cards as they are on eBay.

Probably a very wise choice. Id never send that Jeter back to Topps.

Yea, most Definitive cards don't have flawless corners and edges anyway so I probably made too big of a deal out of it. I was just pissed when I opened it and saw the damaged box.

I agree, then we all know that they will provide no customer service once they do. That's what makes it worse

Having dealt with customer service for all 3 major companies, Topps has by far the worst customer service. Upper Deck is not bad and Panini I feel comes closest to actually carimg about their customers when it comes to that regard.

That said, if the Ozzie Smith Wizard inscription card is still available, I'd be very interested.

Damage to the Jeter is criminal. Good luck.

Of course the newly released $100ish/box 2017Bowman Chrome HTA boxes have much better packaging than several hundred per box Definitive.
