I tried out a box of Panini Prime Cuts back in june and got a redemption card.
It was for a Notable Nicknames card -- One of these type of cards 2011 prime cuts notable nicknames | eBay I got the redemption card the other day in the mail and it was signed by Luis Aparicio BUT he did not write his nickname on the card (as all the other players do based on the link above and also based on Panini description of said product). I called them up and said I would like a replacement card, they said to mail it in and they will see what they can do...... I am sending it back tomorrow with a note explaining why I think they need\should\would be nice of them to replace the card for me. Will keep you gus posted on the outcome.

They called me yesterday
Turns out that Luis Aparicio signed all of his cards for that set the same way - Auto sans the nickname. Which is rediculous since everyone else signed + wrote their nickname. Why would they allow him to do that? It is their product after all, no? They said that since he signed everything like that AND that they have no control over the signatures that they are just going to return my card to me. Had he done it properly and then my card was the only one or part of a few that he did wrong that they would of changed it or replaced it but since he did nothing wrong the card is legit as is, WTF? Well I truly gave Panini a shot even after hearing all the negative feedback from other members here...Sad to say but this does not sit well so after my 2 boxes of Cooperstown (which are alrready preordered and paid), I will not be buying their product again for baseball. I mean, to tell me that they have no control over how people sign their cards is rediculous EVERYONE signed + wrote their nickname (or at least everything I see online selling), it is what the set is about NICKNAMES, yet he didnt and Panini was ok with that. Just an fyi for everyone story over

I saw a Rickey Henderson over here that didn't have his nickname. The one I found on Ebay doesn't have one either. Randy Johnson sure did though

I would add my own "inscription" and send it back to Panini. Honestly, it's inexcusable if the whole premise of the set is inscriptions, they should've sent it back to Aparicio and made him re-sign. It's about taking pride in your product, damn it.

Unfortunately this happens alot. I have seen many cards from all card manufacturers that werent autod properly. Almost anytime you get a set that says 'nicknames' or 'inscriptions' or anything else where there should be some kind of additional inscription by the athlete you will get ones that dont do it. I cant remember the exact set but one of Upper Deck's products a couple years back was known for it. Probably like 25% of the players didnt put down an inscription like they should have. That is just the way it goes in regards to these cards. I think it is stupid myself, but they arent going to return the card to the player and force them to sign it a different way.
