Am I remembering correctly to say this was $120 last year?
I recall that I got 3 boxes and basically ripped them and broke even on them. Didn't hit any major hits but was able to grind my way to even. Overall, the experience was fun but I had to put in work to make sure I didn't lose money.

$200? That's a no from me dawg
Contenders hit the floor of $200 before sellout
It did sell out within a couple minutes of hitting $200, though. So demand was pretty strong at or near that price.
Guessing same should happen with Select. Most will wait for it to hit the floor then there will be a rush buying at that price. 3300 boxes is a lot for this, though.

Dutch for football without a player hyping it. Get that money
$200 is such a ridiculous price for this stuff. Pretty much ALL football products these days are overpriced to the gills. I also bet they will somehow sneak points cards in the boxes like they have in other FOTL releases. FOTL is a shadow of its former self.
XRC's though are only going to be in the hobby format, it didn't really mention if XRC would be in FOTL.
Very good point.

Hobby Select that is a winner, XRC's of Burrow, Young, and Tua are gonna be crazy hot, and the draft is actually good QB heavy.

They were in last year. Because of the dutch-auction style format and opportunity to sell the FOTL at premium prices, I would think Panini would keep them in FOTL this year.
The only thing holding them out of FOTL does is make people pay less for FOTL and more for hobby.

Since these are sold individually not in case format that would imply hobby would have these as hits not FOTL.

I hate this new format. This was one of my favorite boxes last year, but you were getting 60 cards at $120 with the FOTL exclusives. Now it's down to less than half the cards at 25 and the price is doubled or more at $200-$500. I could even get behind the dutch auctions if it was the old format of a regular hobby box with the FOTL exclusives added. I've just had way too many dud boxes and these checklists are just entirely too big for me to throw that much at it with this format. I think i'd rather just have a regular hobby box at the same price, personally.

I would think it being listed in the FOTL description would imply they’re in FOTL. Even though they’re not sold in case format, I doubt they’d put that line in the description if it’s only in the hobby release.

How did numbered Prizms fall in last year’s FOTL? This year it looks like 6 numbered Prizms per box. Content looks good, just wish they hadn’t raised the price. These were VERY popular last year.

If it follows last years format then the number of boxes will be 3x that number. Every rookie had 3 different “RPA’s” numbered to 23 last year for a total of 69 each.

The collecting community hasn't called Panini out enough on this. They advertise "exclusive content" in the FOTL program as /9 or RPA's /23 and then they layer in multiple versions of those cards.
It's extremely misleading.

The Dutch Auction format provides another angle for Panini to manipulate the market.
Maybe I'm wrong here but there is no way for us (buyers) to know how many boxes are available right?
Unless they have a counter that counts down the boxes available, only Panini knows how many boxes are available. They can just end the Dutch Auction anytime they want.

Once the checklist is released you can usually calculate the number of boxes, unless the exclusives are not numbered or say "/23 or less" or something like that. Panini is just capitalizing on the high-demand products. This one should be interesting because they would probably have sold out quickly at $200, indicating they are worth more than that. The Dutch format takes out a lot of the flipping factor so we should see a better indication of what the true demand is.
Can't believe they are dragging this out over 2 hours, at $12.50 every 5 minutes. Was hoping this would be done in 1 hour like the latest basketball release. Why can't they pick a format and stick to it?

Select has redemption XRC cards for the next draft, in this case 2020. The cards are designated by player position and draft position, eg if you pull a QB3 card you can redeem it for the 3rd QB off the board in the 2020 draft.

At $200, it's not terrible IMO. The 2018 FOTL Select retails for $499 and BO is offering $300 per box. On a box-flipping basis, I think that's do-able.
It just looks like they've soaked up any major upside + eliminated the chances of rip & flip.

I ended up with 6 at 200. I love select and don't mind paying a little more for it. But I also got in hobby at 180 so no complaints. The first order of 3 went through immediately, no load issues. Debated on the second but when I saw the high volume I went for it. That order took about 30sec and completed. Oddly no emails but confirmation pages shown after order and orders are in my history with order numbers.
I got 9 boxes. I bought one lot of 3 boxes at $212 plus tax and I got two orders of 3 boxes each at $200 plus tax.
My total is $1,947.75 / 9 = $216.42 per box. I'm pleased. :D:D

Also note, in the details, they are saying that each box comes with 5 free packs of the NFL Sticker collection. Maybe that is how they are going to answer the "wtf this isn't MSRP" questions they should inevitable (and deserve to) get.
So basically they put a price out (MSRP) and say screw it. That's not a good sign for future releases.

MSRP is now $225. Well that's at least according to Panini, who is releasing hobby boxes on they website. They were listed at $150 a box the past 5 days then tonight Panini jacked the prices up to $225.
I don't hate it. Bot bois were going to get them anyways. Might as well cut the profits out.

Never seen this happen before. They ever do this on another release?
They managed to do it twice in one day. If you think the Select Football move was bad, Optic Choice Basketball was $105 a box. Panini changed it to a Dutch auction starting at $700 with a basement of $300. Yes that is not a typo. Almost 3x's the MSRP from the company who makes it. Unreal
Rookie auto checklist was at 42 last year? Assuming 40-50 this year it will equal 920-1150 Boxes.
With the Tiger Prizm parallel falling one every four boxes and with a 300-card set, puts it at 3-4 of each card only. Going to be a fun chase.
Is this the general consensus on the tiger? I had one in each of my 3 boxes (3 still sealed) which I thought was odd but maybe just really good luck.
One of my tiger was a die cut, others were not. While exclusive to FOTL I'm not sold on them being as ssp as led to believe.
So are all base cards Silver Prizms this year?

In FOTL yes. In regular boxes no.

So far FOTL is looking way better than regular hobby IMO. I watched a couple cases open and did not see 1 kyler, jones, lock or big name auto/patch/parallel.

I lvoe this set, its one of my favorites each year, but the price jump scared me so i stayed away.
Ended up falling into the Zion hype, and found a huge amount of freshly stocked Optic retail. and just in 2 cards I made a profit. I still have about 300 Holos and prizms, base and rookies to sell off, and im sitting at about a $300 profit already, which is nice for once.
It'll help fund my football purchases in 2020 even as I take a step back a bit because of some new expenses I have to take care of. :)

Select was my favorite FOTL bust of all time. Soo many things to look for! Anyways, anyone know the tiger stripe print run estimates? Wanna say I saw /3 somewhere? I have brees listed on eBay

I'm fairly confident the Tiger Stripe Prizm Parallels will be /5 or less :)!

Zebras are 1 per case is that correct? So They would be less than Tiger Stripes?

saw a customer open a hobby box and got zero autos and only a 400 pt reward card. BARF

That's not necessarily true at all.
There are a lot less FOTL boxes made as compared to hobby.
I would actually guess the print runs to be the same. Zebra's might be more.

Ah ok, I didn't realize the Tiger Parallel was exclusive to FOTL

Pricing on these keeps climbing. Selling up around $325 now.

The FOTL boxes are far superior to the hobby boxes.
I expect the FOTL to be $400 a box soon, and that's with a weak 2019 Rookie class.
Panini really did a great job loading up Select FOTL this year.

Funny considering a week ago people were complaining that $200 was excessive.

That’s before we knew that literally every card in the box was an insert/silver.

Bumping this old thread. Crazy to think this hit the Dutch auction floor, and BO’s bounty is now $600.
Jumped $100 overnight yesterday. Had 6, sitting on 3.

Any idea how frequent XRC's fell on these?
