A first for me as a seller, as I don't sell many cards via eBay Authentication.
Of note: I don't accept returns.
I recently sold a card that qualified for Authentication and shipped it out the next day using USPS Priority with Signature Confirmation (sale was over $750).
The card made it to the Authenticator and was Authenticated.
The Authenticator shipped out the card to the buyer, and delivery was scheduled for 12/12. Delivery did not happen on 12/12, as "No Authorized Recipient Available."
I assume the Authenticator ships to the buyer with Signature Confirmation and the buyer wasn't available at the time of delivery to sign for the card.
However, there haven't been any additional scans since 12/12. I know there are usually additional scans if the package is sent back to PO for buyer pick up, another one when the buyer actually picks it up, etc.
At this point, the status of the delivery should not be my responsibility since the card was Authenticated, correct?

i just got a card from ebay authentication today...signature not needed and they left in my mailbox.
i would agree though, you did your job of sending to ebay authentication and you should be free from any more responsibility

Once it was received at the authentication site you were no longer responsible for the delievery

I didn't think so either, once it was shipped from the Authenticator.

Even if not through the ag you would be protected. Ebay considers that statement as delivery.. have had a few with that and ebay always sides with seller

On a related note, eBay using FedEx and not allowing redirecting to a local store is absolutely ridiculous.

It still depends on price. ebay doesnt have sig on authentication packages unless they're 750 or more, I believe

Yes, fairly sure that is the case as well, hence the signature required on this card.

Have similar experience with a package myself. So I investigated some and found this on ebay about this exact situation.
Lost, Damaged, or Items Not Delivered.
Items that are lost or damaged during the Authenticity Guarantee process are protected by eBay's Money Back Guarantee, subject to the eBay Money Back Guarantee guidelines. Items that are undeliverable or otherwise unclaimed after thirty (30) days will be considered abandoned and eBay reserves the right to donate or otherwise dispose of the item in our sole and absolute discretion.

Good to know. I assume that means the seller will not have funds pulled for undeliverable/unclaimed items.
It does look like the buyer finally responded to the USPS notification yesterday and scheduled delivery for 12/21, but still reassuring to know it's totally out of my hands at this point.

That is ridiculous^^^ 100% of my FedEx pickups over the years have been redirected to a store.
