Some of you may remember the hullabaloo about my Namath Auto and them sending me the 1/1 instead.

Well, I got confirmation that my Namath Auto shipped today. I will post a picture when I get it.

Aaahhh! So the truth comes out. Lol. So the 1/1 wasn't autographed? How did i miss this?

That was part of it. But they also told me that I wouldn't get the Auto.

Once I tested the waters on Ebay, I determined it was about a $250-$350 sale value. I figure the auto will be the same, if not more. The other problem is that....if I sold it, then Topps would track it down and cause problems that way with the buyer, Paypal, who knows.

It's not a Ruth Cut and it just wasn't worth the trouble. I also thought that Topps would throw me a bone for doing the right thing....that never happened.

I am going to go with no penny sleeve and no toploader... they will just tape a decoy directly to the card... with duct tape.

Top load that's too big for the card so it'll slip out. That's how my other die cuts were mailed.

But the 1/1 was in a mag holder so I'm hoping they do the same with the Autos.

Don't forget the tape across the top of the top loader so when the card slides around, it'll get stuck to the tape. All the cards I got from the Gridiron Giveaway last year, had tape across the top of the loaders.

they didnt even tape the diecuts... i got mine and they were out of the holders but luckily unharmed

I received close to 50 cards from the Gridiron Giveaway, mostly from trading what I received for loads of other cards, and nearly every one of them had tape across the top of the top loaders. Also, was hoping they'd weed out the cards in poor condition, but nope. I got a lot of the cards from the 50's, 60's, and 70's that had the Magic Rub thing on back that was rubbed with a coin and the corners were shot to hell. Thank you Topps! You're the greatest!

Backer, I was going to start a seperate thread but I was wondering if you can tell me what the rare items for this one are...I am WAY late to the game on this but I got a pretty good head start I think since everyone seems to want my Packers superbowl 1 coin and 1 of my Cowboys coins

Do you remember which coins, jerseys, rings were the hardest to get? With the baseball it was obvious in the Mantle...I can't find ANY info about the football though

I did put in almost 2500 codes. I put together 2 Die Cut sets (70 cards) with several double Reds and a lot of Golds /99.

How did you sell?

Right click the picture of the ring for the auction and list it like any other item. With the virtual items, you can see the username of the individual involved in the trade, you can't see it with card trades.

Once it's sold and paid for, have the buyer confirm his/her username and confirm what item they are trading for your MIN ring, go into the trades, find it, confirm the username and hit accept. It's pretty easy.

Also, clean out your trades pretty regularly or you'll be looking through 900 trades before you find the one you want.

IE, I'm ryanschear and I'm offering a DET ring for a MIN ring. It'll be easier to find the trade if you know that they are offering.
