Lol yea nobody else seemed to notice. My wife was in awe. He was real cool, we talked a little about him getting back out there and how much they missed him. He was with 2 buddies.

I've met Jim Edmonds and Yadier Molina by happenstance before and couldn't temper my excited for Jimmy (my favorite Cardinal of my lifetime... plus I was like 22 or something at the time), who was annoyed but indulged me. Yadi I barely bothered (whispered "good luck" on the way back from the restroom as to not draw attention, since no one recognized him... Yadi is notorious for being the opposite of fan friendly, so I knew my limits), but it sounds like your interaction was a bit more meaningful.

F'n classic. That is actually beyond hard to do too. I'm not much for idolization but when you see someone famous and you weren't expecting it it's very hard to play it cool and not go all 13 year old girl. I met Pagnozzi at a bar in Chicago after a game. Also met Keith Hernandez at The Trainwreck in Westport Plaza of all places. Had Mark Grace throw me a ball at old Busch stadium for my then 8 year old son to throw back (we were the only ones in Cubs hats in the bleachers during warm ups) but my son said I was embarassing him and he wouldn't throw it back. LOL 1979 I met Mike Krukow (pitcher) after a sports banquet. My then girlfriend's dad convinced him to stop by their house for birthday cake (gf's birthday). Funniest thing was he took a 7oz Miller pony with him for the drive back to the city. Met Andy Van Slyke last year at work as well - real nice guy.
