My all time favorite baseball player and me (in the pink shirt, haha) chilling at starbucks!!!



It is amazing to finally meet my idol. Now if I would've just had a card on me for him to sign, smh!!

Lol yea nobody else seemed to notice. My wife was in awe. He was real cool, we talked a little about him getting back out there and how much they missed him. He was with 2 buddies.


And yea it's him. His house is 10 minutes from this mall and he comes here all the time from what I'm told.

Bro I know!!! My heart was pounding. At first when he was in line I walked past and said "hey what's up Derek". And he said "hey nothing".

That is really awesome OP and if I were you I would have given him a bear hug! A photo like that would be great to print up and hopefully get signed in the near future. I am sure there is no better feeling than meeting a living legend like Jeter, especially if you are a Yankees fan. Glad to hear he was approachable and not like many other players who wouldn't have given you the time. Thanks for sharing.

Hey, OP, that's great that you got to meet him. Congrats on that.

I met Jeter back in 2003 I believe and got to talk to him during a batting practice. It was really cool to visit with him while he was getting ready for a game.

Pretty awesome, man. I've met Jim Edmonds and Yadier Molina by happenstance before and couldn't temper my excited for Jimmy (my favorite Cardinal of my lifetime... plus I was like 22 or something at the time), who was annoyed but indulged me. Yadi I barely bothered (whispered "good luck" on the way back from the restroom as to not draw attention, since no one recognized him... Yadi is notorious for being the opposite of fan friendly, so I knew my limits), but it sounds like your interaction was a bit more meaningful.
