Hi all, I have no agenda in starting this thread other than to read about folk's experiences with the new COMC Processing system.
My first 10 week submission arrived at COMC just last week, so I don't expect to see my cards for a while.
When the new processing system was announced, we were told that cards would still be processed in an average of 30 days, some more and some less. It's been over 30 days since the new system went live, and I'm seeing very few cards added every day relative to the old system. Maybe it's just me, but for someone who checks the newly added baseball cards regularly, it feels like a desert.
I'm wondering if this is because of the new system or am I just insane? I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that cards will be added in an average of 30 days. Tim stated that a "hot list" of sorts was being built into the new system for no additional charge, but if so, then no one has sent in any 2014 Topps Series 1 over the last month.
If my assumptions are true (they may not be), then COMC hasn't quite lived up to the 30 day average they proposed. I haven't heard from anyone (yet) who has had cards added in chunks like Tim said. I'm curious as to how making us wait 10 weeks saves COMC time or money? They should have people adding cards in from 9 to 5 every day. Whether it takes them 30 days or it takes them 70 days, over time it's still the exact same work to be done whether it's done today or they stick it on a shelf for 70 days.
By letting the cards sit on a shelf, the value drops bit by bit every day and collectors turn elsewhere for new releases. As a seller I lose money, as a collector I waste money, COMC loses money, and Ebay wins big. That could be avoided just by getting the shipments done quicker and not procrastinating.
Thoughts and experiences?

I think the thread is a great idea. THere is alot of mystery right now as to how and when things are processed. I sent batches in which were received on 2/4 and 2/10. So far, no cards have been processed. There was definatley 2014 topps and some other cards i figured would be in the quicker category. I got the impression that hotter cards would be processed quicker, most cards would be about a month, and the stuff that took longer than a month would be relegated for cards the site was inundated with. So I too am interested in learning how others are doing with the new processing.

Same here, sent in Russell Wilson, Marshawn Lynch, and other Seahawk rookies and they have still yet to post. Also sent in a bunch of Denver cards. Sucks because last year both teams would have been on the hot list and would have posted in two weeks, not ten.
I sent in about 500 cards, arrived on the 5th of Feb. There were maybe 50 or so 2014 Topps S1, mostly inserts and parallels with relics/autos/Red Hot Foils/variations. On the 3rd week and none are up yet. Still not worried but not exactly Hot List speed.
My Premium submission sent in the same shipment was was up in about 2 days.

Keeping it on topic - didn't they state that they are going to release cards once a week? I remember it being Friday every week that they would release batches after a final check.
I have four submissions in right now.
Sub 1
Arrived 1/21
Completion: 89%
Actual Live Cards: 217/240
Sub 2
Arrived 1/27
Completion: 69%
Actual Live Cards: 69/110
Sub 3
Arrived 2/7
Completion: 28%
Actual Live Cards: 0/243
Sub 4
Arrived 2/20
Completion: 5%
Actual Live Cards: 0/166
Not in love with the new basic submission as I used to use 2-week on a lot of my decent stuff and then put the lower stuff in as 1-month. Was happy with the results on the first two batches as I had stuff go live before two weeks in both instances. The last two batches contained a lot of 2014 Topps Series 1, some nicer autos/numbered/etc., and some 2013 Panini EEE Autos/Numbered/SP stuff. Really surprised that none of these have gone live as I would consider them to be a hot product. Baseball stuff is starting to heat up with spring training going on - would be nice to have the cards live.
EDIT: After posting this, my submission percentages all shot up. 91%, 71%, 62%, and 10%

Hi all; I want to start by giving props to Cross4444 for starting this thread - this is the kind of feedback that we're always looking for when we start something new at COMC.
We try to not dodge any negativity but face it head on, so we can solve any issues before they get too big or unwieldy. There have been problems with the new processing services and some of our customers have been affected negatively by this.
For any inconveniences caused by this, we are sorry.
Tim's been working with the processing and identification teams to address these problems, so we can actually follow through on what we promised when we first made these changes - that is, getting newer stuff and in season cards deposited sooner.
I just want to clarify that we no longer have the 10 week option; the Basic service has a 2-8 week window, and we still plan to get the majority of a batch processed within 4 weeks, if not sooner. The 8 week window is there in case of emergency or dire circumstances, and (fingers crossed) we'll never see cards take that long to deposit.
Please keep the dialogue going and if you have any issues you need to discuss offline, you can reach us at "staff@comc.com".
As for us using "sickness" as an excuse "every time things get slow"? All I can say is that the last two words of that post are the only things accurate in that statement...thank you.

You better hope he doesnt edit the last two words of his post though!

my 1000+ card sub on 2/4 is at 38% , but none are live.:confused::confused::confused:
I'm in the same boat.

My batch that is at 86% of 800 cards has 385 live. My other 2 orders have 0 cards uploaded. The batch that arrived on 2/1 has 0, and I fully expected to have at least all the baseball cards in it up already.

Let me just state that I do use the site and had a submission of over 300 cards under the old system, everything went fine.
When people were complaining about how long it was taking to ship out their cards, you stated the staff was sick. When no one was answering the phone on Mon. Noberto was sick.

Chez, I don't know about where you live, but the flu has knocked out half the people I know at one time or another over the last couple months. COMC is a lot closer in size to a small business than a mega corp, sick employees are a fact of life.

I know things happen,I'm not there.The 2 times where people have complained,sickness was used.That's all I'm saying.
I wasn't the one complaining about shipments taking too long,or not being able get through to CS on Mon.

I sent in approx 1050 cards that arrived on January 23rd. All basic and they have a due date of 3/20 for the 8 weeks. It's been over a month and not all cards have been processed. Here is the breakdown of my batch.
2/1 - 192 cards processed - 192/1050
2/13 - 448 cards processed - 640/1050
2/20 - 36 cards processed - 676/1050
2/21 - 27 cards processed - 703/1050
That leaves me with 300+ cards not processed after 4 weeks.
The order in which things have been processed is completely random. I sent in stuff from all 4 sports and it just seems like they grab a pile from the box and process. I didn't necessarily send anything 'hot' in, but thought cards would be processed differently.
I got excited when I saw my first 2 batches processed quickly, but then things slowed down drastically. Hopefully the rest of my cards are processed this week. I have another batch that I'm contemplating sending in.
My experience
For the record:
Arrived 2/5/2014 Basic
Completion: 50%
Estimated cards: 490
Due: 4/2/2014
Estimated: 4/2/2014
Fees: $0.00 (cards processed as of today: 0)
Arrived 2/5/2014 Premium
Completion:100%
Exact Cards: 7
Due: 2/10/2014
Estimated: 2/10/2014
Completed: 2/6/2014
Fees: $7.00 (cards processed: 7)

That's disappointing.
But overall looks good for you. 640 cards processed in 3 weeks is a lot more than I got. Also, your dates would indicate that it's not a "cards process on Friday" system.

Two "open" shipments for me
Arrived 1/13/2014 Basic
Completion: 92%
Estimated cards: 400
Due: 3/8/2014
EstL 3/8/2014
Fees: $64.25 (cards processed: 257)
These all went live on 1/31 after 3 weeks. Most of the submission was Prizm Basketball & Chrome FB; "hot" products at the time of submission.
Arrived 2/3/2014 Basic
Completion:59%
Estimated Cards: 200
Due: 3/31/2014
Estimated: 3/31/2014
Fees: $0.00 (cards processed: 0)
This submission is mostly Series 1 Baseball. Is there anything hotter? Friday will be the 4 week mark for this submission. What is probably going to frustrate me the most about this delay is that a lot of other submissions of this set will likely go live at the same time as mine, even though they may have been submitted days or weeks afterwards. There is no longer any incentive to get products submitted quickly.

That group of cards had a lot of nice stuff in it - new stuff and hot players. None has gone live yet, so the 62% does nothing for me other than give me hope that I will see some of these go live soon.

This is what I was afraid of. So you're approaching the 7 week point when 4 was supposed to be the goal and still 143 cards aren't processed. That's disheartening to say the least
Well, FWIW, here's most of my submission. Most of the 2014 S1s are unique (none currently listed on COMC) but from what I'm seeing here they won't be unique when all the outstanding 2014s go up.
The 7 premiums I sent are mixed in there, I think the Briere /9, Trout ring, Trout gold, Braun vintage, Walker auto, Maybin white whale 1/1, and Carradine auto:

This is what I was afraid of. So you're approaching the 7 week point when 4 was supposed to be the goal and still 143 cards aren't processed. That's disheartening to say the least
To be fair here... I probably overestimated the original count (had quite a few thick cards) with this submission. I don't think there is very much left to process, if any. Although I wish there was an easy way to tell. I haven't been keeping a record of all the cards I'm submitting, but now I'm starting to think I might have to.

Thanks to Moe for the update! Thanks to all the members who are leaving fair and unbiased experiences. The way I see it, we're all kind of like stockholders in COMC, we're invested in their successes and failures. Anything we can do to help improve things for COMC will directly help us as well.
From piecing together the few posts so far and Moe's update, it sounds like Tim and the staff haven't given up on fulfilling the goals of the new system, there's just been a lot to work out. It's a learning experience for COMC too, so hopefully sharing our experiences can help them grow.

I just wanted to let everyone know that if you're seeing your orders moving into the 4+ week range, please contact me at "Staff@comc.com" or call us at 1-800-517-3540 and we'll see what's going on with your cards.
Like I mentioned before, Tim's been working with the processing and identification teams, as he's re-worked some of the processing protocols. We'll be able to work with you, individually, to make sure your cards get deposited, as quickly as we can.
Thanks again for your feedback, thankfully no one is sick today so we can respond in a more timely manner.

I used the basic service and everything has been completed in a little over a month (a month and 3 days or so).
On a side note, I did notice that some in the partial batches, there will be mainly new (13/14 prism) cards and then cards from the late 90's. In my last and final batch, i had some more cards that were processed that were brand new (13/14 Prizm). Would it help if we "pre organize" the cards beforehand? ex mark the new cards that ideally we would want in the earliest batch.

I'm assuming that the batch percentages still aren't entirely accurate. I have a submission that's almost 500 cards that was received on 2/5 that jumped from 20% to 75% on Monday and then dropped to 74% today while no cards have been uploaded. Can't really think of any reason my percentage would go down other than it doesn't mean that much. I'm obviously hoping that the jump means my cards(2013 bowman draft, 2013 finest and then some older stuff) will be going up soon but I'm trying not to get my hopes up.

I've been a long time buyer on COMC and Seller on Ebay. I want to start loading my cards onto COMC. I looked up the pricing but couldn't pin down the selling and shipping fees. I asked COMC the question, and got an idiot savant answer. Can someone validate the fees you experience?
$0.25 Basic Per Item Processing (Do you send your cards in penny Sleeves)?
When you sell an item do you pay a commission?
Shipping: COMC says they charge $0.25 for raw, standard sized trading cards and 45¢ for trading cards in toploaders (items of high value may be placed in toploaders at our discretion). Is this charged to the seller? At the bottom of the section it says paid by buyer, but I've never paid a separate per item fee as a buyer, unless it's included in the $3 flat rate?
Cash Out: I'll likely just apply to new purchases but in the event I want to cash out, if you redeem through paypal, does paypal charge a fee too (I realize COMC charges 20% cash out)?

Excuse me? Idiot Savant? I'm not sure how I feel about that...
Anyways...the Basic processing service is 25 cents/card - with a minimum batch fee of $25. Meaning you send in less than 100 cards, we'll still charge you $25.
You can send the cards in penny sleeves if you wish; it depends on how good your card packing skills are, I guess.
We do *Not* charge a commission when you sell a card - you get whatever price you agree to sell the card for.
The Card seller pays *no* shipping fees, when they sell a card - those are paid by the card buyer. The 25 cent S&H fee is included in the price the buyer sees, if the buyer is in "Simplified Shipping Mode" - check your options page.
Paypal will charge a $1 fee for any cashout under $250.
Anything else? Let me know, but be quick...Wapner is on in 5 minutes...Kmart sucks.

One last clarification…Most of the cards I received from COMC have been in penny sleeves and most of the pictures seem to be in sleeves as well. Is that because the buyer sends them in sleeves or because COMC puts them in the sleeves?

New user to COMC but so far I am pleased with processing though I do have to remind myself that even though I'd like everything done ASAP I agreed to a service level which can take up to two months. The stuff I did send in for premium went up right away. Bottom line - I feel like COMC is doing exactly what they say with regard to overall service provided; I can't speak to "hot" material being processed more quickly as that's not the kind of stuff I sent.

I put mine in sleeves when I send them in - I believe they have mentioned before (though can't quite remember where) that they sleeve every card that comes in. I know they are sleeved when they leave the building, and I would assume sleeving occurs for storage after scanning. You do not have to sleeve when you submit - I like to.
Wanted to make sure I revise what I said about fees, as I missed one. If you price a card for more than .75, the first three months of storage/insurance is included. After that they charge .01 per card for storage/insurance that is priced over .75.

Baseball stuff is starting to heat up with spring training going on - would be nice to have the cards live.

i send in only base and my port is low value stuff. stupid of me.
I had one card process yesterday. Seemed weird, it was a regular Hockey Day card (Kane) and the others I sent in already processed.
$0.25 of store credit was used to process the 1 new items added to your account.
$64.25 had been previously charged for the 254 items already processed in this batch.
A total of $64.50 has been used to cover the 255 total items processed so far.
255 * $0.25 = $63.75 (not $64.50)
$64.50 / $0.25 = 258 (not 255)
I'm guessing it's removal fee for toploaders, but I don't remember 15 basic cards in toploaders. Certainly possible though, it was a big mixed batch.
Anyway, my update with the corrected numbers since I was previously going by fees:
Arrived 2/5
Completion: 57%
Active Live Cards: 255/~490 (~52%)
I hit the 4-week mark yesterday.

My shipment arrived the other day; I'm fine with the 8 week processing and the target date is 4.29;
To me the best aspect is if I go negative there is some discretion about continuing with the processing. That is great because I like to send huge packages and then come from behind so to speak.
The funniest part, is ever since the "split" from Beckett, my sales have been better than usual. Can't wait and am patient about this processing part.

I know Moe answered and said that they do take longer but has anyone had any experience with redemptions under the new basic service? I just had 71 more cards added but still no redemptions. Normally I wouldn't mind but I do have a bowman draft Jonathon Gray redemption in there(obviously I should have put it in the premium service but they were only going around $30 when I sent the shipment in) and want to get it up soon in case the price goes back down on them. It's been a week since all my other Bowman draft cards were put up so I'm probably just being impatient but just wanted to hear how long others had to wait.
I do want to say that my cards have only been there a month and more than 85% of my batch has already been processed so overall they are doing a very good job from my perspective, it's really just the one card I was hoping would be up by now.

I'm also seeing this "trickle in" method lately. Not sure that I'm a fan. Makes me feel there's a greater potential of cards slipping through or getting lost. I never had a reason to lack for trust, but lately I'm wondering if I need to start documenting my submissions.
My January sub had 3 cards go live yesterday, 1 today. These were all Prizm (which were hot in January, not so much now). Some were already on the site. Tomorrow is the 8 week due date for this batch.
My Feb sub had 7 yesterday; 2 today. No real consistancy of sets, but most are 2014 Series 1. Today marks the 5 week point. There are still about 90 to go.
I'm planning to send in another submission tomorrow. Hopefully it goes through a lot better.

I'm definitely not one of the BIG submitters. Usually do a few hundred at a time. There are some that submit in the thousands each time.
To note my January submission. I put an "estimate" of 400 cards. Once my first batch went live from it, I honestly thought the batch was done since I remembered it was mostly all Prizm. I had no reason to think that more cards from the same set would be going live up to a month later.
I don't want to have to track my submissions. Not only would it be a lot more work, but part of me liked the "surprise" of what I'm getting when my batch would go live. It was kind of like opening presents on Christmas. Always had a couple "Wow, I sent that card? Cool!:D" moments.
Well, after 1 card yesterday, they did 103 today.

I track most of my inventory anyway (I love stats) so when I'm sending in to COMC, I just check off a "Sent to COMC" box and it's done. There were a "hot" few base cards I threw in at the last minute but everything else is accounted for.

I sent in a submission of about 500 cards:
Arrived 2/10
2/28: 292/~500 processed
3/7: Second batch of 124 items processed, 416/~500 now done.
Still waiting on the rest. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to which cards were done first. The only thing I definitely noticed is that the more valuable cards came in the second batch and the most valuable one (Tom Seaver auto /9) still hasn't been processed.

Unfortunately I never got to experience the original processing but here's my stats under the new ways so far
Approximately 303 cards arrived to comc on 2/15 and so far 2 cards both of which were completely random and definitely not any of the hotter cards I sent went live
And it says it's at 26 percent thru, if that's the pace it takes then it's been 4 weeks to get a quarter of the way thru which means I'll be waiting another 3 months for my batch to fully be up. I admit I'm quite disappointed so far even with the 2 cards that went live selling within a couple days I'm not sure if I'll send in the second batch I had ready or not

What I'm seeing is that your batch gets into the 20-30% range and then there is a big jump all of a sudden that happens that gets you into the 60-80% range. However, as has been stated previously, the percentages mean very little.
That's weird that only two cards would populate...glad they sold for you!

Sub 4

Two new submissions that I will add at some point to keep track as well.
They need to step this up quite a bit. If the goal is four weeks as they stated - they are missing the mark. They are 0-3 on my submissions that have passed the four week mark and my fourth submission hits that point a week from today with nothing to show for it. I'm on board with the reason behind the change to the submission process, but the new processing is really frustrating to me. I used to pay .25 per card for one month processing...and I usually took the option of paying .35 for two week processing.

The randomness is due to their new processing method - if you read how they do it, it should help you understand why weird things get processed at different times.
I was okay with the new processing, because I think the impression we were given was that we wouldn't be seeing stuff taking this long to process (four week average). I'm beginning to dislike the basic processing as it works right now. Hoping that COMC can get things moving a little quicker on stuff - especially with the Spring Cleaning Promotions coming up. As a seller, I want my inventory listed on the site and not sitting in a crate waiting for someone to "get to it" sometime. I used to pay .35 to get my stuff on in two weeks - the sooner it was listed, the sooner I would make money on it.
Quoted from the COMC blog:
"Every week we will process items from the current year and items that are in season, as well as other items that tend to be hot. Items that are out of season and that might not be super hot will only be processed every two to three weeks."
I'm wondering how this is working, because the stuff I would consider as "this year", "in season", and "hot" is not getting through on a weekly basis. I would also expect that if the other items are being processed every 2-3 weeks, I would be seeing more things populate.
As an example, I have a batch that arrived 2/20 to COMC. That is now 21 days ago. No cards have populated from this batch. If memory serves, it contains a significant number of 2014 Topps products and should be 90-95% baseball. Based on the description above, wouldn't you think something from this group would have popped by now.
Update:
Arrived 2/5
COMC "Completion": 71%
Active Live Cards: 382/~490 (~78% complete)
Here's the breakdown:
2/5/2014 (0th Wednesday): Cards arrived at COMC for basic processing
2/28/2014 (4th Friday): 254 cards processed, 254/490
3/5/2014 (4th Wednesday): 1 card processed, 255/490
3/7/2014 (5th Friday): 103 cards processed, 358/490
3/7/2014 (5th Friday): 11 cards processed, 369/490
3/13/2014 (6th Thursday): 13 cards processed, 382/490

My first experience with the new processing was very positive. I sent a batch of 703 cards using the Basic service that arrived on January 16th. On February 1st, 701 of those cards went live. I had only submitted once in the old system and it took until the "Due Date" to be processed, so I was happy to have nearly my entire submission up in a little over 2 weeks.
I've sent in a couple more submissions which just arrived in the past week. I was a little disappointed to learn after I sent them in that the Spring Cleaning Sales are happening this month, because I will most likely miss them. I've found these site-wide sales to be great for business.

Seems to me they could definitely speed this up. I have two batches in so far, at 5 weeks and about 70% is done I believe, other 3 weeks and is at 10%.
If they can't speed it up I think they need to either reduce the cost, or refund some of the cost. Shouldn't have to pay the same amount for the same service that takes longer than before.
Either way this has definitely made me re consider sending in another batch until the speed moves up a bit, that or they lower the costs.

Yes, but how do you know what actually went into the port? I am sure people do not itemize 1000's of cards in submissions. i wonder if comc ever made a mistake and cards went into the wrong port? I just realized there is no way to know if cards get mixed up with other submissions from members.

This actually happened to me with my last submission. I had about 200 cards show up in my port that weren't mine. I had 15 more cards added today. Only about 55 or so out of 480 left 5 weeks in. It seems like it's taking them longer to put relics up as I haven't had any relics from two different sets put up while most of the other cards I sent in from those sets have been processed.
Also still disappointed that my Jonathan Gray Bowman draft redemption is still not up 2 weeks after the rest of my bowman draft was processed. Although if I had sent it in as a premium I probably would have only gotten $35 for it so at least I should get more than that even though I have to keep waiting.

A few days later I sent a 20 card batch premium and they all went live a day earlier then the promised date. 4 cards have sold in 5 days.
So far, so good I guess....I look forward to seeing my first batch pop up so I can start pricing...I know I have a ways to go for that to happen...getting together another batch to roll....trying to be picky because quality is better than quantity.

I just wanted to let you know that the processing status percentages you see on your dashboard are compiled according to the old processing methods. They don't accurately reflect the new streamlined processes, so your percentages won't give you a realistic idea of how many cards you have ready for deposit.
We are working on updating the software, but there are other projects happening right now that are taking a higher priority.

They don't wait until they are all scanned. I've had 1 show up in a day and 200+ show up in a day.
You'll get an email from COMC and it will say "Items Added to Your Account: Partial Deposit". Then it will tell you how many items were added and the total $ deducted from your account for processing. As soon as they are processed you can price them. So if it says "40 new items added to your account" you can price those 40 new items.

Moe - My other question was .... Does COMC wait until all cards are scanned and loaded before I can see and begin to price? Or do they show up 20 30 40 50 at a time?
Swipe - you say you have 95% compelted but can you see any and begin pricing?
We used to wait until all the cards in a transaction were processed before we deposited them into your account; our new system sees cards get placed into "pools" (similar cards that are grouped together) and as pools are processed, the cards within those pools get deposited into the customer's accounts.
If you only have 1 card in a pool when it gets processed, then you'll get 1 card deposited into your account; or you could have several hundred in a processed pool.
And, once they get deposited into your account, then you can price them and make them available for sale.

My first batch under new processing - 100 cards - still only has about 60% of the cards loaded in. I'm now only 10 days from 8 weeks, pretty disappointed in this.
Another batch of 100 sent in yesterday. My Heritage purple refractor hot box included. Hoping these hit the 2-week target, if they don't go live til mid-May I'll be upset. Did it purposely this way to see if they really are targeting the new stuff for small sellers like me, or if it is only the big boys who get quick processing.

Hey, I'm sorry things are taking longer than expected to get the rest of your cards processed - but, with the new system, there's no way we can "play favorites" when it comes to our sellers. The cards get sorted into their respective pools and get processed - it becomes a pretty level playing field at that point.

Does COMC "play favorites" in other aspects of the site? Like exposure and other things?

Moe: Can you provide us a status on the new processing system? There seems to be a lot of guessing going on as to how the new process is working. Most batches are now taking longer to process, and there haven't been any of the quick turnarounds for HOT products we were lead to expect (other than for a couple of lucky submitters). Are you guys still needing to work out a lot of kinks in the system? An explanation would help alleviate some of the frustration going around.
Might as well update my experiences as well. I've done three submission so far under the new system.
Submission 1: 261 cards (mostly new Prizm BkB). All but a few cards done in 4 weeks. The remaining cards (same product) went live just before the 8 week deadline.
Submission 2: ~200 cards (mostly 2014 Series 1). Half were processed in 3 weeks. Nice improvement for that part. Another 9 went live the next week. The rest is still processing. I'm now in week 7.
Submission 3: ~400 cards of various 2013/14 products. I'm only in my 2nd week for these so I don't expect them to be live yet. Though was hoping some processes might have been sped up with the selling promotions going on.

Tim was able to explain the new system better than I can, in our blog:
Premium & Basic Processing Services | COMC Blog (http://blog.comc.com/2014/02/05/premium-basic-processing-services/)
The pool system is designed to make things more efficient for our card processors, and it works for us - in a sense. But, we're still working on how to make this translate into quicker deposit times for our users. That's where we're seeing slowdowns and Tim is trying different things to improve the user's experience...i.e., get cards deposited quicker.
Once we get our card database up and running on the website, I hope Tim will be able to spend more time on this and work towards this: (as he says) "Our goal is to have an average per-card processing time of less than 4 weeks." But remember, the Basic processing system does have that 2-8 week window.

It does not become "not cool" until April 4th or so...56 days....I understand the anxiousness as I am waiting for my first batch to pop and I submitted it on 2/28...so I know I have a while to go...does not stop me from checking 10 times a day however...lol...

You did submit them at the 2-8 week processing level right? So why is that not cool?
Because we were told that most cards would still be processed within 30 days. THe extra month, so i felt, would be relegated for less desirable cards (junk).
We were also told hot cards would be added in about 2 weeks. THis only appeared to happen for the first week or so. Yet we have no clue what the hot cards are.... People waited almost 4 weeks for 2014 topps to appear on site. Currently, i have a 2014 topps tribute auto which they received on 2/25, certainly that should have been a hotter card and have been listed by now.
The guys complaining are experienced submitters/sellers who are frustrated because there apppears to be no rhyme or reason for this new sysytem. Plus the new system hurts those who want to rip new product and list on site, or people like me who buy collections and list. It takes a long time to wait.

If I recall correctly, COMC said it would be faster if you organize the cards. I did that for most of the submission. As a seller for the last 3.5 years, this new processing is pretty annoying. I know they will figure things out but in the meantime, I am sitting on dead money.

I also thought that was a theme recently. My evidence is based on what is being loaded on the site by others as I haven't had very much of my recent submissions show up yet. It could also be that people wait until Friday/ the weekend to add cards when they have time? I know I add them ASAP. I drop everything and list them, haha.

Im a huge fan of COMC, I think they do an amazing job overall. My only issues with this new system is that it is so random. I have 1750 items in one batch and another 1200 on the way now. As of right now it is 1 month of a 1500 card order and the only card that popped was the BGS 9.5 / 10 Baez Sterling, which would have been one day anyway.
Essentially we are paying 25 cents a card for eight week processing instead of 20 cents a card for the 10 week processing... for the nickel, I would have waited, and yep, I'm pretty annoyed that nothing has popped even though I sent some very hot inventory in.

Had 16 pop on Friday.
Think I am done sending things in until they fix the process or find a way to speed it up a bit. I have no issue being patient but this new process, at the same price as the faster processing before, doesn't seem worth it to me.
As someone stated earlier, I have absolutely no issue waiting the 8 weeks and having it done for .20 and saving the nickel. But waiting 7-8 weeks and getting charged .25 isn't worth it.

I have. Here are my results so far, with they days they were processed:
2/5/2014 (0th Wednesday): Cards arrived at COMC for basic processing
2/28/2014 (4th Friday): 254 cards processed, 254/490
3/5/2014 (4th Wednesday): 1 card processed, 255/490
3/7/2014 (5th Friday): 103 cards processed, 358/490
3/7/2014 (5th Friday): 11 cards processed, 369/490
3/13/2014 (6th Thursday): 13 cards processed, 382/490
3/14/2014 (6th Friday): 23 cards processsed, 405/409
3/20/2014 (7th Thursday): 48 cards processed, 453/490
Hit the 7-week mark today, here are the current totals:

COMC "Completion": 82%
Active Live Cards: 453/~490 (~92% complete)
I think that 490 estimated total number is low, FWIW, might be closer to 520.

That is correct. People will not be able to search for football player until sometime in mid to late April. They will be able to browse brands and look at the cards, but they won’t be able to search for players.
We were unfortunately not given enough time to replace all of the data, and March 31st is the last day we can leave the old data on the site.
Note to Sellers: We will not charge any storage fees for listings that are missing either the player information or the the detailed set information.
As a seller, i wouldnt mind comc setting up some type of system where we can edit the info ourselves, hit save for comc review, then comc reviews it for accuracy. perhaps it could help speed things up for them.

Not at all a fan of the price suggestions...not really sure what the purpose of it is...it is up to the seller to do their research...Unless it is a big dollar card...I am not much concerned about "book value"....what really matters to me is what someone is willing to pay for the card...check completed listings on ebay...that is the true value of the card these days
I think it will hurt the unique cards on there....a base 2013 Jeter that books at $2 but will not even sell for .50....not sure what the point is of that...I will price and buy cards according to what I think the market is....seems like alot of effort for something (to me anyway) will be pretty useless

Ebay completed listings suck.
Bad titles, bad end times, auctions (usually go for less than buy it nows) all hurt sales. I have gottn more than ebay completed lisitngs in person and on comc so many times. Had i gone by them, i would have left money on the table.
I also agree BV sucks. But it is an industry standard and its not hard to determine what percent of bv a certain player or card should bring in. However, COMC is hoping to change that standard. For their case, and ours, i hope it works.

Yeah this didn't make me too happy. Not to mention, they say mid-late April but if it goes past that and into the NFL draft it will kill a lot of potential sales if names can't be searched. Especially if certain players are traded or if you have leaf metal cards on the site.

in my opinion comc is over "engineering" the price guide. everyone knows beckett is 10% of what they print on "HI" value. Hot players are daily pricing. It is simple and easy to just "compare" groups of cards stars, semistars, commons, superstars and what not.
Every single transaction has variables distinct to that transaction. To try and factor every single transaction to be perfect is impossible.
I think a efficient search engine will sell cards more then a price guide of past sales. ebay has a great search engine with spelling variations and word search in the search itself.

I think an average of completed sales is going to be useful - sure each may have it's own variables, but if you have the data you can find a middle ground.

For me, what the card is selling for now and in the future is important. not what it sold for in the past. comc has a current "comc price" guide already, the lowest price for that card is the perfect price guide. if it is priced to cheap, someone gobbles it up and the price stabilizes at the fair market price naturally almost like a "ticker" for stocks.
but if programmers want to try and force a market price fine. hope they force prices up not down and ruin a good thing. I wonder what will happen to everyones view when the port values drop 50-90% in April. $100,000 BV ports show up $10,000 Value. will offers for ports come in at $1,000 instead of $10,000 ?

Kind of the same boat for me. It seems a little over 1/2 pop by the 4 week mark and very little ahead of that mark. I love how with the processing was first changed, they made it sound like most everything will remain within 4 weeks, or possibly even sooner and 8 weeks would be the exception to the rule. Not so much IMO. Being a natural pessimist, I figured this would be the case, but I'll say it's still pretty disappointing.

I don't see the current price as something you can pinpoint - just like Beckett, this is supposed to be used as a guide. No rules saying you can't sell for more/less than a certain amount. If you want card pricing like stocks, head over to The Pit and check that out. For me, this is supposed to be a composite of many sales that give a middle ground. Obviously, you may have to think a little objectively with your pricing to get what you want. If someone gets hot, you raise the price accordingly - just like you would react in a real world situation.

My stupid opinion is that if a card is listed at $1 and is the lowest and nobody bought it, pricing a card at $2 because it sold for $2=$5 in the past makes no sense and a waste of time. It isnt selling at a $1 at this moment in time and if you are not willing to buy it because it is grossly underpriced ,$1 is the market asking price or value with a even cheaper price being more realistic. comc is a great guide without needing additional book value inputs.
Just program a multiplier of 5-10x lowest price for Retail book. probably take comc 1 day max to develop a guide off of the lowest price of all the card on comc.:)!

Not sure why your opinion would be stupid - what you mention is like the people that list a card at full BV, just because it says BV $8.00. I think the COMC price guide idea is to adjust prices according to the market - if a card value falls off it would obviously decrease the list price.

I could care less what value they put on my port, just like I do not care that my current COMC port is valued at $170,000 Beckett BV...I know what I have in it , I know its worth to me and what i would want for it....there really is no value at all other than the amount what you and another person agree at.

If people think that book value is useless, lets all ask comc to value all cards at $0.05 and see what happens to sales and the site since nobody cares and think it does not matter. :)!
we might not even find one buyer to agree to offer anymore.

I guess one of my main questions with the fee pricing is, how much of the fee they were charging before had to do with paying for the Beckett BV? If were no longer receiving BV's since they are going to be gone, should the prices to upload decrease? Im sure they are spending a ton on the implementation of this new value program but I am sure some people wouldn't have sent in without those values.

Interesting thought. They will probably spin a no reduction into the "we are giving you access to OUR proprietary pricing system that we spent the time and money developing."

Weekly update:
9 cards only dropped today for me. Kinda starting to get frustrated, My last batch had ONLY newer cards in it, and got there a little over 3 weeks ago. I understand they are also working on the catalog, but at the same time, if you know that there is this much to do, don't advertise that submissions will still be done on average around the 4 week mark. At this rate, my 680 card submission won't even have any of it's cards live within 4 weeks, unless they drop very late tonight.
Processing as of right now:
575 Cards arrived 2/19: 521/575 processed.
680 Cards arrived 3/5: 0/680 processed.
625 Cards arrived 3/28 (today) 0/625 processed.

Monday is 3/31 - wouldn't that be the eight week mark?
I think everyone is getting frustrated with this new processing service. All the talk of streamlining and telling us "hot items" would go live at the two week mark seems to be false. They are also not hitting the one month average on these either...none of what was promised seems to be coming to light. The new catalog sounds great, but it doesn't directly benefit me. I price my cards at what I want for them...and I don't send in stuff with hundreds of copies on site to get an SRP on what I do send in.

agreed.
very frustrated.
had a batch recvd by comc on 2/28. Today marks the end of the 4th week. I had one card go live out of the 130 submissions.
I also am concerned with all the football cards I have waiting to be processed. Not sure how they are going to process them without names????
the other thing I find odd is that they pushed football behind hockey and basketball because they were not in season. Regardless if they are in season or not, I think football sells better. maybe I am wrong.

39 went live tonight. Call me a skeptic, but I have posted about COMC processing a handful of times and I have had cards go live within 48 (sometimes 12) hours!
I applaud their effort either way. I have always been supportive of them, but they keep on screwing up. The 39 that went live were ALL at least 2-3 years old. I have almost 400-600 cards from new product that still are not live. I'd be fine with 39 going live every now and then, but to make live cards that would sell regardless of when they pop versus cards that would do well being on the site ASAP is frustrating.
I don't see how they don't make the new stuff an absolute priority and say F the majority of other stuff until the 7th week. It really defeats the purpose of anyone sending in new stuff.
