Colts QB Matt Hasselbeck is starting tonight, per source. No Andrew Luck again.

Per roto
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Andrew Luck (questionable, shoulder) is expected to miss Thursday night's game against the Texans.
Rapoport said Luck will test his arm before the game, but the plan is for Matt Hasselbeck to start. Hasselbeck played well against the Jaguars last week, but Luck sitting is a downgrade for all the Colts' skill players. With 10 days off before the Patriots in Week 6, this should be the last game Luck is forced to miss.

Regardless, Houston's defense has been far from spectacular. I think the Colts will kick a bunch of field goals. But Arian should run all over that depleted Colts D. 27 - 23 texans

The Colts QB situation doesn't worry me from a betting standpoint. The lack of Vontae Davis and DeAndre Hopkins playing for TEX is more worrisome. He'll probably get 20 targets and go bananas. Colts offense will score points. Colts defense will allow points. I would wait for the line to drop to its lowest point hopefully under 40 and grab the over.

being a texans fan i hope they win tonight. that being said I think they will win based on the multiple players the colts will be missing. they have little to speak of in a running game and defense is not good. The Texans will tee off on whoever the qb is and blitz all night long.

This could be very ugly, and most likely Foster will play lights out assuming the Colts can't move the ball and they make this a T.O.P war.
TY tends to destroy houston, but I think Moncrief and Fleener are going to be the ones with the big games considering they don't have a qb who can chuck it deep right now. Expecting a bunch of dink n' dunks.

"On February 5, 2014, in a partnership with CBS Sports, CBS announced that it would air Thursday night NFL games in simulcast with NFL Network during weeks 2 through 8 and a Saturday doubleheader game during Week 16 of the 2014 regular season. The remainder of the games will air on NFL Network, and will be simulcast on broadcast television stations in the primary markets of the participating teams. NFL Network hosts will still handle duties for pre-game, halftime and post-game coverage; however, Jim Nantz and Phil Simms, who host CBS's NFL coverage, will handle commentary for the games and all of the games in the package will be produced by CBS Sports."

From Ed Werder:
"Ideally, what Bill O'Brien would like to have is a QB who combines Hoyer's intelligence and decision-making with Mallett's size, arm talent"

Why wasn't that a safety? The player never kneeled down nor was he standing on the line. He just tossed the ball to the ref. Don't think I have ever seen that before....

Did the ref signal touchback? If he did, then it wouldn't be.
You're right though, that is odd.

I think he blew the play dead as a touchback just as the player was beginning to throw the ball to him. Of course once it is blown dead at that point nothing can be done, but it shouldn't have ever been blown dead. Unless is there a rule that states if a players remains in the endzone for a period of time its considered voluntarily giving himself up?

If I were Houston's coach and they score a TD, give it to Foster to go for 2 and end this hootenanny.

Good question, I'm sure it will be brought to the attention to the crew by the league when the refs watch the tape.

LUCK should take notes & Hasselbeck should get Lucks weekly check. To say Luck could've put up 400 is brave considering he's choked since the end of last year.
With Luck A Johnson couldn't do anything in 4 games (51 yds)....with Hasselbeck Johnson gets 77 Yds & 2 TDs in 1 game

Did some MF'er who collects Jimmy Garoppolo and Garrett Grayson just try to talk $hit about Andrew Luck?
Didn't think so.
It was kinda hard to watch Clowney limping the entire game, you can tell he's still recovering from his micro fracture surgery and his explosive ability isn't what it was. Hopefully he can return to form soon. That would help with JJ Watt being triple teamed and would help Houston's Defense greatly.

the texans are a mess.
Mallet has mental strength issues. If you watched Hard Knocks, you saw that he no-showed practice the day after they announced Hoyer was the starter. He *claimed* it was due to a faulty alarm...
But, as you could see when he got pulled due to injury, he didn't celebrate with the team during the second TD. Kept pouting, and the camera showed him after Hoyer's poor decision that ended the game just stewing.
So he's a head case, and Hoyer plays well until he blows it. If you have two QBs, you have no QBs.

What a great game last night. I found myself happy for Hasselbeck. Such a good guy. I would have thought he could have done better then that lunatic wife lol
Mallett learned a valuable lesson. Never take yourself out. I could not imagine what he would do getting hit like I have seen Roethlisberger hit by the Ravens in past years. Good QB's get up and shrug it off. Blood and all. Having the air knocked out is nothing you should be tapping out for in the NFL. Its just not a good look as the "general" Then you see a monster like Foster get clocked and they had to drag him off against his will.

Love seeing Hassleback get it done and Gore looked great on the ground (something IND has been desperately missing the last three years). It seems like the Luck injury is worse than initially expected...hoping the long week gives him time to get right so he can get back on the field.

this debacle at QB is making me wonder if Bill O'Brien is kicking himself in the ass right now for putting Tom Savage on IR for the whole year...I think at this point I'd rather see him in there than either one of these other assclowns they're playing right now. Hoyer has been serviceable the past two games but his week one start was atrocious. The season is pretty well lost...I wish Savage were available...just put him in there and see what he's got because it's painfully evident neither one of these other two guys are the answer going forward.

Should've kept Keenum... although it's pretty obvious Hoyer is the choice for now. I think they should just stick with him and quit flip-flopping. Next year they NEED to make a move.

Why couldn't you? That says a lot about trustworthyness as a person (considering being married is theoretically the position you put most of your trust in life in)then again look at the regression of familial values over the course of the last 40 years.
