Yup my submission was after nationals I guess. In any case hopefully I have my cards tomorrow. Would anyone look at their grades ahead of time or wait for their cards to arrive?
I'm pretty certain that 95 to 99% of all BO members look at their grades as soon as they pop! Hell, half of the members here are able to find their grades before they pop! |

At this point, with non guaranteed Grading taking this long, Beckett really has an ethical obligation to warn their customers that it could take 6-9 calendar months for their cards to be returned. The non disclosure of this information is unprofessional and deceptive.

The only thing that makes sense is they are doing this on purpose to force people to do the more expensive grading. |
I wonder how much it would help them get caught up if they flushed bccg?
After all, they've always said it's the same graders. |
I wonder how much it would help them get caught up if they flushed bccg?
After all, they've always said it's the same graders.
I personally think bccg is worthless even a 10 bccg doesn’t guarantee you a 9.5 I think maybe a 9 since it says 10 mint or better. Anyone ever cross over bccg to bgs or psa and get decent results? Also factory sealed box pack pulled cards that come back as altered after grading how does that happen? Do you just resubmit to bgs and psa hoping for a different grader? |
So here is the damage after waiting officially 169 calender Days my submission of 180 cards in which 152 were mine goes as follows
12 of 152 altered in some way or form about 3 or 4 were factory sealed packed pulled but in any case 1 of 152 bgs 10 82 of 152 bgs 9.5 40 of 152 Bgs 9 8 of 152 bgs 8.5 5 of 152 bgs 8.0 3 of 152 bgs 7.5 1 of 152 bgs 6 Of the 17 8.5 or lower I probably whiffed on half of those just missing things on surface like small nicks or small blemishes on the back but overall I would say i did ok. Many of the 9s I got I mis judged on centering which to be honest I tried hardest on corners and edges and tried to clean any visible blemishes but didn’t spend as much time on centering as I should have. Now I really know what to look for |
What's the latest update on turnaround time? I submitted mine back in early August 2017..and still waiting.
|
Beckett has called multiple large submitters that there is now a 500 Card weeekly submission limit. This was done to help the non guaranteed orders get caught up on.
|
I'm up to 122 business days on my 23 cards. Nothing yet.
|
Mine submission was at the National and in the system August 2nd with no update. I'm hoping any day now.

Same day for me. Let's race! |

July 25th for me. Most are PC items, so I am not that worried about it, but 7 months is right around the corner. |
Considering pitchers and catchers report next week, wouldn't most agree that Beckett is more than likely experiencing an influx of guaranteed orders? I'm starting to realistically guess that many of us won't receive our August orders until the season starts at this point.

At least BGS is making changes to try to get these taken care of. They’ve now limited large submitters to a maximum of 500 cards per week. I’d bet they will start catching up in the next month or so but be more prepared going forward
I called PSA the other day to ask when my order will be entered in the system and they told me that the reason they are backed up is because BGS is one year behind on all of their submissions. They said to expect it to get worse and not better in the near future on PSA subs. Would love them to hold themselves accountable and make changes to Better their system. I send them a 20 day order and it takes over 20 days to be entered into their system. I send BGS a 10 day order and the cards are done 10 days after they get to Dallas. |

120 business days minus whatever they took off for thanksgiving and Christmas |

PSA just moved into a brand new larger facility. I think their efforts to "make changes" are greater than BGS at the moment. |

If not, PSA is basically making there work environment more comfortable at our expense.

I don't have a dog in this fight but clearly one side is winning right now.
PSA - move to larger building to accommodate more staff and monthly submissions. We expect to be growing over the next fiscal year. BGS - Don't send more than 500 cards. We will turn away business until we catch up. |

Exactly. The biggest reason to move to larger facility is to have more room for new employees. Joe Orlando has hinted on the PSA boards that he is looking for candidates, but searching and training up takes time. My big wish in all of this is that SGC steps up their game and finally grows some market share. I would love for them to be a truly viable player in the modern market. |

We will turn away business until we catch up.
PSA - Literally told me they won't be doing anything and to expect a 3+ week delay for anything other than express and super express to be entered for the forseeable future. They also blamed BGS directly for their problem saying "they have a 1 year delay on all submissions so we are getting backlogged because people are changing". This is what a rep told me at PSA, so it certainly doesn't sound like they are planning on hiring people to take care of the problem. BGS - We are going to limit large submissions because we think its unfair that it has gone on that long for the non guaranteed. Once we get that in order we will open the gates again. Here are the facts. If I send a 10 day regular submission to PSA they take 15ish business days to log it then they take 10 business days to process it. Thats a 25 day process not including shipping and the 15 days is an estimate. If I send 10 day submission to BGS the date starts the day they get the package and my cards are graded in 10 days. That is a 10 day process. I can literally send them an order when the first one gets back and I will have 2 day submissions done faster than 1 at PSA. Price is roughly the same (actually BGS is cheaper for me by a fair amount). So, yes, you are right one side is clearly winning. Please note I send THOUSANDS of cards (mine and other people's) to both companies per year. I actually send more of my cards to PSA because of my business model. The timing of return doesn't matter as much to me on a lot of what I send them. |

Facts - Qualified folks would most likely need to already know the sports card market. Really qualified folks would need to understand grading. Most of those people probably already have a successful sports card business. They make A LOT more money doing what they do compared to what a grader would be making. It would be VERY hard to come up with an amount of money to get me to drop my business, move all my inventory, relocate my family and look at other people's sports cards EVERY DAY. It is a BRUTAL job. If you disagree, sit down in your room, turn off your lights and turn on a lamp to look at cards. Evaluate them for grading. At least you are benefiting yourself here, now imagine doing it for other people where you get a small paycheck and have to do it day in and day out.
