Lucky and congrats! I bought ~500 of the dollar tree packs and did not hit a black knight
Also...one of the "other" online stores has a sale for Memorial Day weekend S1 Blasters $44.95 S1 Megas USA $1,599.95 S1 retail box 36 packs $159.95 $4.44 per pack for retail sounds decent, right?
Yeah, especially because retail and hobby have the same hits. I bought some of the dip, but I think most serious collectors are strictly buying Italy megaboxes for the chance of hitting a 4 to 5 figure shard. |
So there is buzz about s3 coming. Prices seem to be slowly picking back up, especially for US print cards. Lots of Italy cards sold on ebay recently.

Will be interesting to see how many eyeballs get pulled in once S3 kicks off. This will be the first FN release in the middle of the "boom?", with some strong skins hinted for the release, could kick previous releases in the butt and push them back to Feb/March peak again. |

I'm hoping Panini took some time to make interesting changes for series 3. Series 2 was a pretty big improvement IMO, but there was a lot left to be desired. When Series 2 came out, it was readily available on the shelves for a few months. I hope Panini caught wind of the hype that these cards eventually got. I think they must have because the S2 promo sets were selling instantly on their website. As for the s2 cards, the maps in S2 fell flat for me. The backs of every card were exactly the same - I think adding a sentence or two about the location and even circling the location on the island map on the back would have helped. Also hoping they do numbered parallels of some sort. Finally, in game cosmetics would make these cards go through the roof. If there's an incentive for fortnite players to buy the cards, I think it will get crazy. |
Honestly, I think it's a bad idea. Fortnite is already losing players due to Apex Legends and Fortnite's attempt with Funko Pops already tanked. These things are everywhere and no real collector buys them. Really long shot in the world we live today. Game hypes last about a year or until something new and fresh comes along.

Ice Shards. They are the nicest and rarest cards by far.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Is that the only place possible to find those? (mega boxes) or are they just guaranteed? What's the best you can get out of the hobby boxes? Holofoil? |
This thread has been sleepy recently. Is the excitement for Fortnite cards gone? What’s the general sentiment these days?

PSA 9 Black Knight USA crystal shard sold for 26k, private sale recently. And a raw one sold for over 17k. These are definitely not dying down.
Also a series 2 Aura crystal shard sold for $920 ungraded. |
Series 3 hobby out next week. Thoughts?
looking forward to the megas, haven’t seen anything concrete on when/where those are though. |
Any score the hobby boxes with the 10 cracked ice pack from Panini online?

Exactly my experience. |
Any thoughts on whether Series 3 will be close to Series 1 in terms of prices for sealed product and hot cards? From what little I've read, Series 2 wasn't as popular/expensive as Series 1.

There isn't really a consensus yet on this. It probably depends on how much they print, and also how the parallels are. Some stuff from s2 is ticking upward, albeit slowly. |
i opened 13 megas today stuff is nice if megas go up to $200 i still should be ahead on what i pulled

$50 shipped for a mega box - is that a good buy?

its double msrp but its not bad |
I like the blaster format with this release (guaranteed laser parallel).
Some of my recent pulls: Hoping to pickup a Midas laser parallel at some point. |
Fortnite Trading Cards
So who actually determines the scarce cards? Aside from Legendary cards and all, I’ve seen some epic and rare outfit holos, chromes sell well, but many don’t.
Is there a place to find out which are the most sought after other than eBay? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Bought 3 blasters at walmart today.
Also got a hobby box to rip here soon with my Son .... Really want to find Megas in the wild for retail price. Sadly its going to be hard for now to see what is the real chase. Nothing numbered, had they left chromes to only 1 per hobby box and not in retail they would be the chase. Looks like currently people are thinking Crystal Shards are the chase, but seems that may be more because of the past ... because they are like 2 in every mega and then reading above there were some 10 packs from them direct. So I'm not so sure how much of a chase that actually is either. Seems like they are close but still missing the final key to the puzzle to really get fortnite cards flying. Prices currentlly may argue otherwise, but think its more recent release hype. |
