Class action suit filed against PSA, PWCC and Probstein

Eric Savoy has filed a putative class action in the Orange County courts charging PSA with knowingly grading altered cards and PWCC and Probstein with knowingly selling them. It asserts a variety of legal claims including (!!) civil RICO. I have a PDF of the Complaint but am not sure how to post it.

Glad this is happening.

Shill bidding should not have been included in this. Hard to prove that PWCC was complicit in that.

There's text messages telling at least one person to raise the price on a card.

I want to see this plastered all over the media for a long time. People need to know, the hobby damage has already happened.

Triple B 02-13-2020 09:35 AM

Is Eric Savoy someone well known?

MrPresident 02-13-2020 09:36 AM

That's rich. Long overdue.

I wonder if Joe O. will choose to discuss this in the next quarterly call...
The Defendants sought to increase their profits through an unlawful scheme. The Defendants, along with other entities and individuals, were employed by or associated with, and conducted or participated in the affairs of, one or several RICO enterprises whose purpose was to deceive consumers and the public into believing that they graded and sold unaltered baseball cards only, when in fact they were knowingly grading and selling altered cards for significantly inflated values.
Whoever you are that filed this suit...............DO NOT SETTLE.......thats exactly what they are going to try and do....get you to settle before discovery

Make you you go thru the discovery phase

Then the beacon of light will shine thru

There can be no denial by PSA..........especially on serial numbered cards

Scottish Punk 02-13-2020 09:51 AM

I want under oath court documents PSA explaining the trimmed cards in holders. Maybe that will force the back door dealings to come out. Probstein doesn't seem like the person to go down with PSA. Somebody's got to start talking..

corndog 02-13-2020 09:51 AM

Good news and many thanks to Eric.

How will you respond to a subpoena as an expert witness and/request to hand over your digital proof?

I'd request the witness protection program

speedyjg13 02-13-2020 10:08 AM

Thank you Eric!!!!! I would refrain from submitting to PSA or buying PSA until this settles. Same thing goes for sending and buying from PWCC

KevinC 02-13-2020 10:09 AM

Wouldn't a guilty verdict in a case like this instantly devalue all graded cards?

Its a civil case so there will be a civil judgement in either the Plantiff or Defendant's favor (No guilty/Not guilty)
