The only change for eBay here would be you get the first two pieces of info when you make the purchase rather than when the package arrives. And I guess you’d not be deprived of this info on AG program buys.

Sellers also already get buyer information as soon as buyer makes a purchase.

The part before the OR is where the concern is. Will it be shown in the actual listing. That could create alot of concern and issues. If it's after purchase that's really no change from what it was a few years back at one point you could bid on an item then pull contact information of the seller and get all that.

I'd be concerned someone would come to my home and steal items I have posted for sale. You are basically then advertising the contents of your home and where to come and get them. Seems a bit dangerous.

This is one of a few concerns. That's where 2 large dogs an Ar-15 and a few other guns come into play.

Hopefully they won't be that crazy with it the bill was signed into law. We just have to see how it gets implemented

Email and phone on this listing? The amount of direct deals off ebay will [i]skyrocket[/i] if that's the case I have to imagine.

Also this seems so unnecessary, and comes with a lot of concerns for personal home business type sellers (not the huge business sellers like COMC). Seems like a disaster in the making. Great job Congress if this passes, smh.

When a deal is made obviously info is exchanged between parties.

My concern here is having all my info publicly available 24/7 on eBay listings. I'm a private individual, not a brick and mortar business looking for people to drop by.
Maybe I'm missing something.

Imagine all the spammers and also identity thieves having full names and addresses and phone info?

This fits the narrative of certain administrations. They make it tougher on law abiding citizens and easier on the criminals.

Are you selling as a business or individual?

My understanding is individuals would only have their first and last name displayed on the listing and the address would be revealed as the package arrives.

Maybe create a fictitious business name if you sell in large quantities.

Nobody knows for sure what this will require. What we know is just speculation. Until it's finalized anything could happen

The bit about individuals providing their name and emphasis on "high-volume sellers" is from the text of the bill.

Not really speculation. Would make sense for others concerned to begin looking into alternatives.

Really not a problem at all. First things required Ebay already has from you:

Bank Account Info (They already have this with managed payments)
TIN / SS# (They already have this if you've received a 1099-K in the past)
Email Address (They send you emails already)
Phone Number (Get a second cell number just for Ebay if you don't have a business number)

Your name & address will only be listed in the order emails sent to buyers, NOT shown in your listings. That was part of the original bill which Ebay fought to change.

Again, easy to get around if you want. Use a PO Box as your business / return address as that is what will be sent to buyers. Another part of the law is if you don't have an actual storefront & your "business" address is your home, then only your state & US will be shown.

Maybe I missed it in the past, but I was just looking at a listing from a seller in the UK and it had all their info toward the bottom of the listing page- name, address, phone number, e-mail, VAT number.
I don't know how I feel about that, but my initial thought is I don't like it.

So for you sellers in the UK- have people been calling or e-mailing you to deals outside of Ebay for items you have listed?
Or has anyone just shown up to your listed address hoping you will sell items to them there?

I would think Ebay would not want this sort of thing going on.
