Classic Panini response to my question

I know this is not a football card.

I sent a message about these cards.

Its called Historical Item and is guaranteed by Panini. I ask what is the material. After the 4th try, I received a response. This is what they said.

"unfortunately we are not able to provide you with the exact material and where it came from. If you have any other questions please feel free to contact us at any time, thank you"

My next question will be, "what exactly are ya'll guaranteeing on this Historical item?

drumstyx89 07-20-2015 11:55 AM

Looks like a Cavs jersey

What, you expect a company to be aware of what it puts in its products?

Seriously though, that answer is a slap in the face.

They clearly have NO respect for their customers...

Put your question to Tracy Hackler publicly on Twitter. These things are best asked when other people can see it.

This hobby has been dying a slow death since 2009... It's no coincidence that that's also the same year Panini entered the hobby.

myerscards 07-20-2015 12:52 PM

Bill Clinton is a piece of Hillarys Thong and George Bush is a piece of Hacklers nighty.

pejc300 07-20-2015 12:53 PM

This the reason I recently sold my Babe Ruth Diamond Kings Auto 1/1...it says "authentic signature" but the authentic signature was guaranteed by Panini, which to me is worth about as much as a bag of poop.

Not sure what is worse, the answer they gave or the fact that I was expecting them to say that.

good idea, now I just have to learn how to use twitter. LOL

It really has. I still find ways to enjoy it tho.

Good Call. Plus there are a lot of fake Babe Ruth autos out there, even Topps got taken a few years ago with one.

You guys are hilarious with this stuff

Yesss. I have the Clinton.

coreydean 07-20-2015 01:15 PM

I think Panini is garbage. I really do. Not saying others shouldn't collect it or like it, but I'd never let one of their cards near my PC. If my PC was a kid, Panini would be a sex offender lol.

Classic [S]Panini[/S] sports card manufacturer response to my question

As if Topps wouldn't have done the same, if not worse

ChicoCheese 07-20-2015 02:29 PM

I can understand if it was a player's jersey of someone like Eddie Lacy where they probably have a closet full of event worn jerseys and they can't tell you which jersey it came from and where. That being said, I seriously doubt that they have more than 1 piece of "memorabilia" for lack of a better term, that belonged to Dubbya and Slick Willy.

Jackg1980 07-24-2015 06:22 PM

This was my response.

Unfortunately the answer is not acceptable and should be acceptable. The back of the card states Panini guarantees the material is real. What is the guarantee, if Panini doesn't even know what it is? Why is Panini putting material in cards, labeling them "Historical Items" of former Presidents, then guarantees the material is real, then when asked what it is, Panini proceeds with "I don't know". The answer I received was disrespectful. I will need a valid answer.

I was worried someone wasn't going to chime in with a "Topps does it do" defense of Panini!

You should keep pushing this until you get an answer. And I agree with the above idea of using social media to expose it.

good luck

I did, both on Facebook and Twitter. No response so far on social media but they did respond to my above response. They stated this:

"please allow us some time to further investigate this question. Once we have an answer we will be sure to update this ticket. Thank you for your patience and understanding regarding this issue."

Last time they ask me to have patience I never got a follow up. Lol

That is not a defense.

A defense is saying "Panini doesn't do this"

The Card Album 07-24-2015 09:12 PM

Topps doesn't hide it. Their COA states "we cannot guarantee any specific game or event" on many of their relic cards.

Not saying that makes them any better than Poopnini. Just making conversation.

Topps COA: "we cannot guarantee this is from any specific game or event"

Panini: "the enclosed materials is guaranteed by panini"

Soooo, essentially, both mean exactly the same thing.

I can't remember how long Panini's exclusive deal runs for, but if someone can tell me when it expires, I would like to mark that ion my calendar so I can schedule a party well in advance. David Sharp has made repeated promises to me about compensation for cards Panini failed to replace because they deemed them to have "sufficient enough damage to warrant replacement". So glad I get to make a visit to the Panini booth this week to "greet" them.....

I know a few people that want to greet him this weekend.
