So here's something interesting I just noticed. I know we were talking about the 02 SB Auto/Relic card a few days ago and looking at the streaky/faded autos. It appeared (then) that the black pen was used for the lower serials before he switched to blue, but I just saw this:

Blue auto #12, still a little streaky, but not as faded as this one:

Black auto #18.

Seems interesting, maybe blue for jersey #? But why would that even matter to them/him. Did they save the #12 auto for the end? Seems these were just kinda all over the place.

Here's a thought: Maybe the cards were numbered back at corporate after they were all already signed, and there is no rhyme or reason to pen color relative to card number...?

2nd example isn't black. just a heavy faded blue marker. these were not signed with black pen.
