Get to know your new neighbors ASAP....from my cluster box experience, they will be getting some of your envelopes over time.

I went to file an INR on one of those and it had gotten a recent scan. I'm 28 days past purchase. Remind me again how long I have to file?

Purchase date: Nov. 14.
First Scan: Nov. 15
Original Estimate (per tracking): Nov. 19-Nov. 25.
Current Estimate (per listing): Dec. 17-Dec. 23.

I always forget which of those dates start the 30 day clock.

Can anyone give me the link the PIP site? I do not have to file often, so I always lose it. I promise I will bookmark it this time.

Please add tanyaken23 to your block list.

He's based in Singapore but has an Oregon shipping address. Bought a 20 dollar card with ESE shipping that unfortunately did not get a tracking scan by USPS. He sent 7 or 8 messages within 48 hours asking why it hadn't shipped, when it would ship, etc., even after I explained how it works. The post office still hasn't scanned it for tracking after 5 days (which happens often) and he has already filed a claim.

ESE marked as delivered, but envelope arrived opened & empty. What are yall doing as sellers? Buyer opened an 'item not received' case. Does PIP do anything about these? I know technically if tracking shows it delivered, you usually win INR cases.

So did his card turn up?

This is a first shipped a card ESE Free Shipping and buyer sent message ( OWE ME .49) items was $2.10 total. I am leaning to refund, but buyer did not pay a S/H fee.

I am also blocking buyer as it is obvious they have a USPS worker that is ANTI ESE.

Hoping they raise the limit to $25 or $30 soon, really hard to justify selling cards in that range when first class bubbles are above $5 shipping now

$25 with keeping the max at $50 would be great. Right now I don't even list cards over $20 until they get to $30 with the $5 shipping tacked on. When I buy those $35 cards I'm only paying ~$5 more than then $20 cards.

I honestly don't understand why its not just a shipping option without dollar limits - They could provide insurance to a total amount, leaving it up to the Buyer/Seller on "taking the risk" if its higher. I assume this is because of the lack of scan consistency for these, but that seems like that is improving on a weekly basis

Anyone use non-machinable stamps to bypass the max thickness? Sold 14 base cards which cost me an extra $4 of shipping, then sold 10 to someone else which I should be able to fit in the double slot instead and net basically the same as the 14 sale

I don't use a regular stamp....when I have an ESE that I want to be non-machinable I use the 3oz rate for single cards under 1oz, or if the envelope weighs over 1oz I take it to the counter and have them put on an extra $.24 to cover the difference....but a stamp should work if that is the way you want to go. I don't mind going to the counter because I have started to have the window clerk postmark the back of each ESE envelope. In some cases the length of time it takes for the ESE envelope to be delivered has been up to 3 weeks.....but with the postmark on the envelope the buyer can see when I did actually mail it, so they know the delay is the fault of the USPS.

Impatient ESE buyer - rhodyc_72

Filed INR today, 12 days after label creation. With all the winter storms down here everything was delayed. Label created on the 24th, told buyer it would be 26th or 27th before it shipped due to icy conditions on the roads.

Technically you're not supposed to be able to mix regular and digital stamps; I have had a few delivered with extra stamps though

If you're advertising ESE, doesn't the buyer expect at least a chance at getting some tracking records? If non-machinable, I don't think they'll get a scan.

Update: I told him I've been seeing shipments with no acceptance scans arrive late to Regional Destination or Post Office and get its first scan there... but buyer is a UPS driver, has received other shipments in this time frame, roads have had plenty of time to clear out, etc. Guess his observations trump mine?
He did say he thinks someone is stealing ESEs in his area (Providence, RI).

In my listing I don't mention ESE....I just say PWE....any tracking that they might get should not be expected.....but 99% of the ESE envelopes where I do pay for non-machinable get machine sorted anyway. And then there is the buyer whose envelope I pay the extra for non-machinable, it gets no scans, and he files an INR complaint less than a week after mailing....I believe he is scamming the system.

Tracking updated in Providence today of course.

Lately been getting complaints that I didn't use any 'cardboard' to protect the card. My understanding is cardboard is a no-no. Are people actually sending in PWE with cardboard protection?

Dude today complained that the bowman chrome card got 'scratched' from the rolling machine because I didn't use cardboard.

I think they mean cereal box pasteboard stuff, but still doesn't make sense to me. Was it in a toploader or Card Saver?

If it's an eBay ESE, get photos and file an insurance claim. Tell him "cardboard" could make the envelope too rigid.

I get them with cardboard, ding defend, in bubble mailers. Heck, I even once got a graded card in an ESE.

All of that is against the rules though. Some of it will get through, but you'd be creating headaches for yourself with items getting chewed up by the machines and postage due.

ETA: As noted above, just tell them cardboard would make the envelope too rigid and is against the ESE rules.
