Default Rams sign Wes Welker

From rotoworld:

Rams agreed to terms with WR Wes Welker on a one-year contract.
Albeit a low-volume one, Welker could have a meaningful role quickly in St. Louis after Stedman Bailey was slapped with a four-game suspension on Monday. Welker's prime years came with Tom Brady and later Peyton Manning at quarterback. Now 34, Welker will be playing with Nick Foles in a run-devoted Rams offense.

Welp, RIP after-career life playing in that division.

Odd to see the Rams actually sign a WR with a name for himself. In their entire history Brandon Lloyd was probably the biggest name at WR free agent they ever signed.

Welker is like one more hit away from not knowing anyone thats currently in his life. Its sad. Life is so much bigger than a game. He had his glory, I wish he'd just walk away.

Welker isn't going to be happy until he actually dies on the field.

Dumb risk, Zero reward. No one thinks Rams are winning West and would be lucky to win a WC spot. Even dumber on Welker's part to still think he's ok enough to play.

What is the risk? They are barely getting anything from their WRs not named Autsin. It's all upside. At least he was once good b

There is no risk

He means for the Rams. Little risk to the Rams, they can cut him anytime, and his salary is likely the vet minimum.

It's a huge risk for Welker on a personal life-level but one he's apparently willing to take.

If you are referring to the issues welker has had then yes there is risk. He should have retired years ago

Rams are a Josh Gordon away from being serious contenders. Unfortunately, Welker /= JGod

Our QB is pretty ass. You have to have a stud qb to win in this league and we don't have it.

Can't give it to gurley 45 times a game(they'd like to)

I admit Foles has looked pretty bad thus far, but really...who does he have to throw to? Tavon Austin?

Was hoping the NFL got together and said no one sign Wes.

The guy already has that look in his eyes when you have had your brains beaten in for years.

Hm. Wonder if he's worth a roster spot in fantasy.

Have you ever played football? ... It's it's own reward ... Not being able to play is absolute torture

I think that coming back moves Welker from "probably" a future Hall of Famer to "definitely" a future Hall of Famer as long as he adds to his career numbers a little. Two time all-pro, only guy ever with 5 seasons of 110+ catches...and within no time he'll be at 900 catches and 10,000 yards. Yes, he's a slot receiver, but the best ever so far.

Why does anyone care about his head injuries?

Its football, people get hurt.

He's a man, he has the right to work.

Plus, maybe he's not looking to live a long time after he plays. Life insurance pays double if you die on the field.
