Default D'angelo Russell

Man I love watching this dude play. Anyone else think he is a future superstar? His sick ball handling and passing are pretty elite for a rookie. His shot is a little flat but he just seems to thrive when given freedom. He just needs to stay confident out there

I'm a pretty big fan too. He has a lot of potential. Especially as a 19 year old kid. He's holding his own. Hopefully Byron lets him play! Had the opportunity to meet the kid and get a jersey signed! Now trying to collect his rookies.

He generally has a really good feel for the game and instincts, but I worry about his lack of athleticism.

I'm really praying he turns into a superstar. I got out to the arena to see him play up close and he looked pretty good. He'll do better when KB and Byron are gone next year. He's really young. I hope he develops before his rookie contract expires, lol.

Saw him play in ATL a couple of weeks ago ... IMO he's got a long ways to go ... Just hope he has the work ethic to be great

Love him. Was a huge fan of him at OSU and was pumped he got drafted to LA.

I was thinking more along these lines. Not total bust but don't see him being anything more than a mediocre role player

Kobe is a selfish, arrogant, drama queen. A real man would've taken this kid under his wing and show him the ropes, at least for the sake of the future for the Lakers franchise. Do what KG is doing with KAT and Wiggins, that selfish coward is all about himself. I think Russell has great potential, just with the wrong franchise and wrong people around him. Who has the Lakers developed correctly besides Bryant in the past 20 years? Maybe Bynum for 2 seasons?

Man if you're able to completely make that assumption about a 19 year old you need to be working in a front office my man.

Before 2014 have the Lakers even drafted in the top 20 in the past 20 years other then the year Bynum came out? Just saying I don't think they have had many chances to develop players.

How do you know Kobe isn't taking Russell under his wing? Are you in the locker room, at practices, at games??

I first want to say that I don't think Kobe has anything to do with it. But you don't need high picks to find talent. So many quality players go after round 2 even, quality orgs find them. (jordan Clarkson is actually a good example).

Don't think he's a superstar, maybe a mike conley level player, would much rather have towns or porzingis.

Conley was the first guy that came to my mind when Russell was drafted- very similar game. For me the jury is still out though... the kid's only 19 and there is a ton of room for improvement. Having watched him this year so far, I'll say there hasn't been another rookie with his court vision- I can't count the number of times he's threaded a pass to an unsuspecting teammate only to see it bounce off their hands. His jumper is suspect, but that can be improved. The defense though- ouch. Bad, just BAD.

But I'm giving him time- I remember when Stockton came in... his first year he was nothing also. And he turned out fairly well

He has looked completely terrible every time I have watched him.

His game against Philly the other night was beyond words bad.

His defense is just horrible, it looks like he has no idea where anybody is or what he's supposed to be doing lol

Dwade Collector - You have no idea what you are talking about. You're embarrassing yourself. You hate Kobe, fine, but please don't act like the crap you are spewing is any kind of sane analysis. You know jack squat about Kobe and you know even less about what he is doing in the locker room or at practice with Russell. Come on son.
